She had needed a break from the clubbing scene, as shocking as that seemed and took to the Wild Life preserve for a good old fashioned hike. I mean, what was not to like? The trees were nice, everything smelled earthy, no losers were trying to get up all on you, and most of all, you still got to keep in shape. Shocking as it might be, Kayla Summers sometimes lived for this sort of thing, that not all the time she felt the need to be a material girl, even if that was only one percent of the time. There were never a lot of people out here though, after several odd plaugings of disturbing happenings, the residents of Beacon Hills didn't seem to take to hiking very well, could get attacked.
The young woman really could not blame them for jumping to conclusions about that, she supposed anybody could be a victim, especially when it came to werewolves. But that wasn't really the only problem now, Kayla almost felt like she could sense a change, a shift in the wind. There were dangerous things afoot that didn't just deal with werewolves, or at least, not little betas and their alphas. No, there was something else at play and she couldn't quite decide just yet how she felt about it. Hopefully no wars would break out though, that would be such a drag and the last thing that Kayla wanted was to be dragged into something. She liked hanging out in the middle ground.
Although, some people could probably argue that she had a fondness for humans, they were just so...delicate. Like a nice little present, but it was also out of envy. Kayla did envy them, which was a little shameful seeing as all the power and strength she got from being what she is. Oh well, best not to dwell on such things and forget to live. The young woman wandered through the trees now, never in a straight line though. She liked to move in and out around the trees, zig zag for fun since it was so easy to do in a human form compared to her hulkish bear form. Kayla knew she was going to have to take a break soon, drink and chill about in the foliage.
As she broke into a clearing now, her grey eyes noticed the city line of Beacon Hills. Funny how even though it felt like such a tiny little Californian suburb, it truly did look like it's own world, "Wow...wonder what it looks like at night," she muttered. This was a new part of the reservation that clearly, she hadn't found out about until now. Probably because kids made out here or something, last thing she needed was to people go off about something other than deer in the woods. Waltzing on down, she dared to get a closer look and took notice of the edge with the drop off. Of course, that didn't seem to just quite stop her as her toes of her boots met the edge.
For a while, she just stood there. Forgetting about time and maybe even the fact that she was out in the forest. It was impossible to see cars go by or anybody's life, yet there was still something calming about staring at the Beacon Hills skyline. When she had enough though, Kayla turned but just a little too sharply. Her backpack threw her off balance and before she knew it, practically tumbled over the ledge. Quickly, she reached out, her nails digging into the ground as she slammed into the side of the edge. The young woman gasped, feeling like it had actually knocked the wind out of her.
Feeling herself start to slip, she scrambled a little but was having issues and just seemed to not be able to pull herself up, her backpack still throwing her off, "For christ sake, you're a bear," she muttered angrily to herself as she attempted to dig her feet into the side of cliff for what she could. But it did little to help her out, her feet easily slipping and the movement causing her to slide a little more. At that moment, a sense of human panic took over her brain. She could shift but then it would ruin her clothes, she'd be freaking naked and that wasn't cool. Plus, she didn't want to be seen as a bear out in the open, damnit, she was going to see if anybody was around, "Hello?! Is anybody there?" Kayla felt herself slip even more, her nails ripping up dirt and grass, and worse of all, messing up her manicure, "Fuck, I need help!"
