Mae's first trip into town since they moved the trailer into the woods was uneventful. She'd gone to check on her mom, to learn she wouldn't be home until late again. Since she wasn't too aquatinted with the town yet and she had her first day back at an actual school tomorrow, going out was out. So she'd settled for going to the local video store to try and find an old black and white horror movie. She'd curled her hair and put on a bare minimum of make up, and thrown a t-shirt with jean shorts and sneakers on.
Her search was not going well, the staff wasn't too helpful, and simply pointed her to where the horror section was. Everything was either newer stuff or remakes. She didnt mind that, but she felt like nostalgia tonight. Mae crouched down to look at the bottom shelf picking up a copy of "A Clockwork Orange". It was a solid back up if they didnt have what she was looking for.
She continued to browse over the bottome row. The teen's brow raised in confusion as she spotted a copy of "The Notebook". She swore she'd seen one in every isle. She hoped for her sanity this wasn't a town where the most rented movie was "The Notebook." She picked the film up and looked it over with a mixture of confusion and disgust.
"Ugh, whoever put these two on the same shelf needs to be arrested," she muttered to herself. "A Clockwork Orange" was a psychological masterpiece. The other one, while she could admit was probably an amazing romance story, was her least favorite brand of movie. It didnt seem right for it to be so close to one of her favorites. There had to be a chicklflick section this could go in.
