The cold, early October air was making Beacon Hills colder than usual. Despite the fact she was enjoying her night, there was something in the back of her mind, niggling away at her. The problem with this scenario was that she wasn’t really Chey right now. Her thoughts and her feelings, her fears, her wants and desires - They weren’t her own. The magic she was under left her footloose and inhibition free. Maybe that was the real reason for the hairs standing on end across her body. The spell she was under was enough to keep Chey under Hayden’s thumb, but after a night of drinking and dancing, everything was that little more blurry, little more unsure... like how the hell she ended up in the park!
Regardless of how or why, Chey ran to the swings like she was seven again, diving towards them and landing her feet upon the seat to swing stood up. There was an insatiable giggle to her as she ran around like a child again. As she flew through the air off the swing, landing on her feet with a bump she screamed out a ‘weeeeee’ before running off towards Hayden. “This is so much more fun than that bar! I felt like a sardine!”

Hayden was enjoying the cool crisp October air. Fall and winter were his time, dark so much more often, colder so he was more at place in multiple layers, not to mention, October meant his birthday was soon to come. Though, that part he really didn't look forward to anymore. What was a birthday? Just another day. Just another year that had gone by, bringing him a new year of trouble. This year, though... This year was ending on a slightly better note. Arriving in Beacon Hills had put him one step closer to his goals... One step closer to ending all of this forever. The only glitch? Hunters. Again.
Hayden had thought everything he had planned would fall apart when he'd realized there were hunters in Beacon Hills. Which, honestly, he wasn't too shocked. The place was a supernatural beacon, and most hunters weren't stupid. If his spells had led him here, their crap would to. But, all was not lost. And Chey Crowe had opened his eyes to that. She had given him the opportunity to remove the issue before it became one. A chance to get rid of the hunters before they once again tried to kill him.
He had worried it would be hard. Getting close to Chey had not been easy. She was young, had a protective family, and seemed to be moving closer to another guy, but Hayden knew what he had to do. One kink in her armor, just one, was all he needed to get in her head and get in her heart. And boy, did Chey have some kinks to use. And they had made it so easy to push her back towards him, to tweak her emotions in a direction that would lead her back to him. And he didn't even have to do anything BAD to her. Not really. In fact, the easiest way to get Chey had been to make things BETTER for her. To make her feel that he was an opportunity for freedom, for fun, to be an adult and be treated by such by a man she cared for. Of course, to put those feelings there, he had also had to put the distrust and fear about other people there. Bring her fear of being seen as a child to the surface, make her a little angry at her family for being so over-protective. After that, Chey had been all too willing to come with him, to leave the safety of her family and fiends and go out with him. It obviously wasn't all him, though. Chey obviously needed this, and to Hayden, it seemed some part of her wanted this. Wanted freedom from all that held her down. At least, that was what Hayden told himself to make himself feel better. Part of him hated this, hated what he was doing. But, hunters couldn't be trusted. And he couldn't let them get in the way, so he had to use whatever means available to get them out of the way. And Chey was the easiest one.
Hayden had to admit though, she was fun. He may have had to give her a little push, but Chey had taken it and took off running. She had been nervous when he had asked her out, but Hayden didn't even need his powers to convince her to say yes. All he needed was his charm. And with both his desires running through her veins and his charm clouding her judgment, Chey had eventually given in. She had quickly loosened up at dinner, which Hayden made sure was as extravagant as possible. Of course, as soon as he manipulated their way into a club, the night had taken off. Chey had danced and drank just as much as he did, and he had to admit, he was slightly impressed that she could hold her liqueur like she could. Of course, she had been hesitant to drink, being underage and all, but all it took was a little touch of the bartender's hand to get her to agree to give Chey whatever she wanted.
Now, the night would soon fade into morning, and yet here they were, still laughing and running all over town. Taking a tour of Beacon Hills, as they had referred to it.
Walking into the park, Hayden took a moment to take a breath, closing his eyes as the gentle breeze blew past them, his leather jacket swaying slightly with it. He had to admit, something about this town made him feel very good. As if there was something somewhere here drawing him in, something calling out to him. He didn't know what it was he was feeling, but he liked it. It made him feel at home for the first time in a long time.
He was quickly jerked out of those thoughts, though, as Chey left his side and ran towards the swings, jumping up and landing feet first on the seat. He chuckled at her, laughing at all the times he remembered the swings in the local park where he grew up had became his escape. The place he fled to after a bad day. Those memories were some he had tucked away, memories of his stepdad he had avoided for fear of them making him weak.
With a deep sigh and slight shake of his head, Hayden pulled himself out of his mind back into the real world, catching sight of Chey giggling as she flew off the swing,, obviously enjoying her freedom from her problems, his little push in her emotions allowing her to have fun and act carefree for what he guessed may have been the first time in a long time. He laughed himself as he stuck his hands in his jacket pockets, watching her fly through the air and land on her feet with a thud. Chuckling, Hayden walked a little forward into the park, meeting Chey as she ran up to him.
"Oh really? For a sardine, you sure were dancing up a storm in there!" Chuckling slightly, Hayden looked around for a moment before his gaze returned to Chey. "Though, I think SOMEONE may have had a little too much to drink, haha. Or was this your plan all along? Get me liqueured up then drag me off to the local park for a romantic trip down the slide?"

If nothing else, Chey loved the way he chuckled, the look on his face as she ran towards him and the way he moved to make her journey a little easier. With all her niggling doubts silenced it was that much easier to keep enjoying the night, giggling away as he spoke, reaching out and shoving him. “Er... Excuse me. Dancing is my thing! I didn’t see you complaining or shying away from the crowd!” Every now and then, with her words, she’d prod him gently in the chest, giggling the whole time. Maybe this was drunk Chey, despite the fact her family owned a bar, too many nights of seeing her brothers huddled over the toilet, praying to the porcelain gods, completely put her off even trying to drink anything.
“Oh no. I didn’t have a plan! It was yoooouuu that took me to a club! You also got me all the drinks.... So I think if anyone had bad inten---” Suddenly Chey stopped, finger in the air and tilted her head, looking aimlessly as she thought. “Wait....” She was so beyond post toasted it was unbelievable but she couldn’t seem to sober up no matter how long she wasn’t drinking. “How can you have a romantic trip down the slide??” She asked with a snort, looking at him again like it was the most ridiculous thing she’d ever heard.

Hayden laughed lightly as she leaned forward to shove him, staggering back jokingly as if she had really put force into it. He groaned lightly each time she would poke him in the chest, a huge smile on his face the entire time. "Oh believe me, I could tell," he replied, chuckling at her. She seemed so into what she was saying, so goofy yet so focused. "And hey, you're not the only one that enjoys dancing. I was just glad to have found someone who could keep up!"
Laughing at her, he moved forward slightly, moving a little further into her personal space than he meant to, but once he realized how close they were, he simply smiled. Leaning in, he grazed his finger tips across her cheek, sliding some stray hair that had fallen back.
"Oh really? No plan at all? I find that HARD to believe. And hey! You didn't HAVE to drink them. I just figured I was drinking, so you probably wanted something too! It isn't like they ever carded you!" He threw that last part in with a slight laugh. Truth was, the guy had been intent on carding her, but it had been all too easy for Hayden to change his mind. Sure, it had been a boost to the headache that had been building up since he arrived in town, but who cares? Little emotion manipulation to give Chey the night she needed, it was the perfect way to get what HE wanted.
Then, that look on her face changed it all. It was so cute... She seemed utterly lost, like she had just wandered into a dark forest or something. Hayden had to admit, it was a face he could easily for. If she wasn't a hunter...
Pushing those thoughts out of his mind, he turned to an angle, bringing the slide into her view. "What? You mean you've never had a romantic slide ride?" He was unable to suppress the amused chuckle that came with that question, but he pushed forward past it. "Must have been a dull school experience for you, huh? Here, let's change that," he offered, jokingly bowing down like a gentleman and holding out his hand to her, his left eyebrow raised. "May I have this ride down the slide?"

Chey couldn't help but dance, even now when she wasn't actually dancing she could feel her toes twitch at the need for her to be upon them, twirling and moving like the prima ballerina inside her. She wasn't in her right mind to know there was something off about tonight, about Hayden, she was being manipulated for a good part and the rest was her insane desire to feel free, to feel special and wanted. She was trying so hard to be the perfect daughter, perfect sister, perfect aunt, perfect student, perfect dancer, perfect hunter.... There was only so much perfect someone could try to be before the pressure forced them to start crumbling.
She still wasn't sure how it was possible to have a romantic trip down the slide, even as he questioned the idea that she had never. "Dull school experience?" It had to be said, it made her giggle the way he went about asking her. Even under no influence Chey wouldn't have been able to resist such an offer. Rolling her eyes playfully, she pursed her lips to try and stop her smile becoming a great big grin and reached her hand forward into his. "Well since you asked so nicely... How could I possibly say no?" That was it, there was nothing stopping it, the grin came out despite her best efforts, a giggle following it as she waited to see quite how he tackled this slide journey.

"Yeah, you know. Too much time spent studying, not enough spent making out under the jungle gym!"
Hayden couldn't help but smile, genuinely smile, when Chey giggled. He couldn't deny, even for a moment, just how beautiful she was. Naive, sure, but beautiful. In another lifetime, another place, another situation, he could see himself falling for a girl like her. Not this time though...
His smile faded for a moment with that thought. He was doing what he had to do. Hunters thought they were the good guys, but really? Hunters were the monsters. They had ruined his life from the start. Hell, if it hadn't been for the hunting idea that self-sacrifice to save the world was a good thing, his stepdad would still be around. If it wasn't for hunters, he wouldn't have to constantly wonder if someone was going to break down his door and kill him. Well, not this time. This time, he was going to remove the problem before there was one. This time, he would strike first.
Bringing back his smile, albeit a false smile he had long ago perfected, one that was barely distinguishable from his actual smile, Hayden took her hand in his. "You couldn't? I mean, c'mon! Look at me..." Offering her his biggest cheesiest grin, he pulled her in close. "I'm totally irresistible, right?"
The grin that came from Chey as he said that was perfect, the little giggle following it the sign he had waited for. The sign that this was all working. That look in her eye, her inability to stop smiling, the way she seemed so happy even without his influence. She's falling for me...
Turning towards the slide, he chuckled lightly. "Come, m'lady. Our romantic ride awaits!" Even he couldn't resist laughing as he slightly pulled her along with him, both of them running happily towards the row of slides on the other side of the park. Examining the first one, Hayden cocked an eyebrow. "Well, I do believe this one may be too small. That one too..."
Moving down the line, he looked at all three of them, smiling as he looked at the largest one on the end. "This one. This one is perfect. After you, m'lady," he said, offering her another joking bow as he let her pass to climb up the slide first. Allowing her to climb up and take a seat, Hayden took a moment to watch her. Smirking a little, he climbed up to where she sat.
"Okay, now..." he said, moving into place behind her. He placed one leg on each side of her, sitting as close as possible to her. Sliding one hand slowly up her arm, he let his fingers graze softly across the smooth skin.. "And then we just..." Looking at her for a moment, he raised her arm up in the air, doing the same with the other 'til it had risen to join it. She had her arms raised outwards as if she was about to go down an incline on a roller coaster, but gods if she didn't look adorable. Smiling at her once more, he brought his right hand to her side, sliding it around her waist until he could pull her closer to him. "Ready?"
As he asked this, he leaned in close, resting his chin on her shoulder, the sweet smell of her hair filling his every thought as his left hand went out, he too preparing for the rush as they slid out. All it would take, was for her to give the go ahead...
