Chey knew the ways of a hunter, she knew how this whole thing worked. Hell if she hadn't met Niki before her transformation she probably wouldn't have hesitated to put a bullet in her brain. The thing was that some how, Niki had hit Chevrolet in a sore spot. She got the feeling that Niki was more scared of herself than anyone else could ever be and she wanted to show her that she wasn't a monster, she just turned into one occasionally. By the colour of her eyes, Chey knew that Niki was bitten not bred, and who would blame someone for being attacked by a psychopathic wolf. It was the sympathy she had for Niki that kept her eyes on her as as Colt panicked and ranted... Until he threatened to call Ryder. "WHAT? NO!!!" Shaking her shoulders slightly, Chey tried to pull away from him. "You can't do that Colt!! Have you seen him lately? He'll probably go straight over the edge if you call him!!!! I called you cause I thought I could trust you.... How many times have I helped you out Colt? Please? Do this for me just this once?" Her jade green eyes were just begging him to help her. She wasn't sure what would happen if Ryder came here but she was almost sure it'd be worse for him than it would be for her. "She didn't get me and she didn't mean to attack me, she didn't want to... She couldn't help it!! She's a person under that wolf Colt and she needs help." It was a fact, little Chevrolet was all growed up.

One of these days, he was really going to learn not to pick up the phone. Yeah, right, and hell would serve ice cream first. There was no way in Hades that Colt would ever not pick up when a friend was in need and he damned well knew it. It just wasn't in his makeup.
Blowing out a breath at Chey's pleading, the tall hunter finally sighed and muttered under his breath. "I'm so going to regret this...." Looking down at the tiny female in front of him, he nodded. "A'right, A'right. Don't get your panties in a wad, Chevy... We'll do it your way but first time she snaps at one of us.. All beats are off, understood?"
OH yeah, no doubt, he'd pay for that one later.
Without really waiting to catch her response, he scanned the area behind her and saw the crumpled form of the werewolf. Still muttering inaudibly to himself, he made his way carefully to where the creature lay and then carefully leaned down to poke at the form. When it didn't move, he spied the tranq darts and smirked. Chey had as good as aim as ever.
"Damn, remind me never to piss you off, munchkin... You got wicked aim with those darts. I'd hate to find myself in an awkward situation come the next morning..." he teased, moving to lift the female and finally glancing back at the other. "Lets get her to the car before someone sees us and calls shenanigans. I really have no desire to spend the night in a jail cell for attempted abduction and whatever other evil things the cops would assume seeing her like this."

There was a literal sigh of relief as Colt let her have her own way. She wasn't exactly a brat who was moaning because she wanted something she couldn't have, she was a person fighting for the life of someone that didn't deserve to die. Besides, his terms were fair enough. "Okay. I guess if she snaps at us I can't really defend her...." She stood there with her arms around herself gently as Colt approached the body, a grin attacking her lips as she noticed his smirk. "Well yeah I got good aim... It was you that taught me to shoot after Jessie nearly let me destroy the yard!" She smirked at the memory before suddenly remembering how the neighbors cat seemed to disappear around the same time. Cringing quickly she hopped after Colt, pulling her bag back over her shoulder. The prima ballerina with a gun wasn't something you saw every day. Following him she gently bumped his fist into arm. "I missed you, you big oaf!"
If Nikita were to be awake right now, she'd be so pissed off at the man carrying her like this. Then again, he'd have to catch her first or beware that she'd rip him to shreds. But her against two hunters? She'd likely stand no chance in hell. She wouldn't know which way to turn. If she went after one then she'd have to worry about the other sneaking up on her. She was screwed either way. So good for her and for them she had been knocked out by tranquilizer darts. Hopefully by the time she woke the sun would be up and she'd be back to herself, obviously feeling quite guilty for attacking Chey who had seemed like such a nice girl too. And of course confused by the sight of the man carrying her seeing as she hadn't met him before being knocked unconscious.

Werewolf in the backseat, silver handcuffs clipping hands behind back and on her ankles, check. Pixie like huntress rescued, check. Keys in hand, check. Any evidence of a scuffle disguised, check. Everything was as it should be. Sort of. If one didn't count the fact that Colt was once again feeling like a bad cross of a knight in shining armor and the fool who just KNEW this was gonna backfire in his face somehow. Oh well though right? He lived for this shit anyways.
As Chey spoke from behind her, he gave her a smirk before ruffling her hair. Holding the door open for her like the gentleman he was, the hunter gave her a wink. "Yeah, sure you did...Kind of like a bad penny?" he teased, smiling when she climbed in and then he slide across the hood to the drivers side before opening it and getting in himself. "So, were to now, Chevy? The batcave?"
A grin to show he was kidding, Colt put the keys in the ignition before starting the motor. A quick glance in the rear view and then he eased the GTO onto the silent street before glancing sideways. "You think your parents would care if I crashed in the basement again? I'm in need of a shower and a decent nights rest..."

Chey couldn't help but giggle as Colt told her she missed him like a bad penny. It definitely wasn't the fact that the young girl had a huge crush on the older hunter. There had been so many times she wished he'd see her as more than a little girl but today had just proved it. She couldn't really blame him, he'd known her since she was still knee high but that didn't mean she didn't long and pray for things to change.... to one day have her chance. She clicked her seat belt in and nodded at the handsome man beside her, grinning back as she noticed his grin and blushing bright pink. Looking at the time, Chey nodded "Yeah, Sam and Dad will be at the bar so no one will really be home anyway..."

And so they went. Colt as oblivious of the admiration aimed his way as he'd ever been and Chey having thoughts that would have had HIM blushing in turn. At 28, the hunter was world weary and he honestly had no clue about his charm to the opposite sex since his one and only "real" relationship had ended in dismal failure. After his wife had walked out on him, he'd decided that relationships just weren't for guys like him and that was that.
Had he know about Chey's crush, he probably would have put the car in the ditch out of bemusement. Yeah, definitely a good thing he had no clue what was going on in that beautiful head over there. He'd watched her grow up and her family would have his ass if he ever really studied her long enough to see the imp had turned into a beauty that would rival even the sun.
Blissfully unaware of the undercurrents around him, the hunter glanced into the backseat and frowned. Absently, he wondered if he should see about medical help in the morning. "Chevy, how much tranq was in those darts, by any chance?? Anything that might harm her tomorrow??" he asked, glancing back at his passenger even as they drove along quiet streets. " And hell... Their in town? You seriously are trying to get me killed arent you? I knew it..."

Chevrolet would never agree with the statement that her beauty could rival the sun's, she'd also never agree that under any circumstances could Colt looking at her in anyway make him think that. See despite the crush that was taking the term literally on the young girl, the attraction that was making it hard to tear her eye away from him and the flutter of her heart that made her words that little bit harder, she knew she was just that 'little girl'. She knew it was hard for any girl to not have a slight crush on him. He was all muscles and badassery. Even her friends agreed with her crush. First time Kourtney saw pictures of her she asked why she hadn't pounced on him yet, forever saying she was going to miss her chance and that some other girl was going to step up but the truth was, she didn't have enough faith in herself. She'd watched Colt love and lose another, she'd seen the look in his eyes around her and no one had ever looked at her that way, she didn't think anyone ever would.
She'd shrugged slightly at the question about the darts, looking back at Niki on the back seat and cringing slightly. "She's gotta be alright... Right?" Reaching back she tentatively extending her fingers towards her, moving back again quickly as she moved. She'd only been breathing but it was enough for Chey to flinch. She didn't think about the idea of her being hurt. She was distracted, giggling slightly as Colt accused her of trying to get him killed. "Would I?" She was still giggling, a grin beaming across her face. "No one has to know anything that happened, right? Besides you have some mail at ours so... It's a great excuse for you to have stopped by...." Reaching across she shoved him gently, still grinning. "See... Not trying to get you killed."

The thing about growing up in the world Colt had was that it was a small community. Sure, they might travel around, see lots of cool places and do lots of cool things but that was all just window dressing. Being a hunters kid was worse than being an army brat because you could never truly let anyone "know" you and there were always secrets. Within the "community" though, you were able to let your true self shine through and no matter the distance or time between each visit, you picked up like you left off. Most of them became family and when the chips were down, those were the people you could count on to either drag your ass out of the fire or bail it out of jail.
Such was the case with Chevy and her family. Colt knew that if he ever needed anything, he could count on them. There was never any doubt of that and he loved them all for it. Hell, they even let him use their address for his permanent residence location and all his important mail went there when he was out on the road. It saved him from having it where someone else could get ahold of it and it suited them all just fine as far as arrangements.
Of course, that also gave him an excuse to see the chocolate haired imp at his side and he'd be lying if he said he didn't look forward to seeing her each time. He'd watched her grow up and felt completely comfortable in her company. Like everything else faded into the background while he bantered with her. It was a good feeling and one that was treasured.
And the thought of her being hurt? The werewolf in the backseat was just lucky she was along or he'd have been tempted to just put a bullet in its hide and dump it in the nearest landfill.
"I'm sure she'll be fine, doll. Shes a were, right? They got all that healing mojo." he said, glancing sideways at her just as she continued to speak and gave him a playful shove. "Hey now... Watch it. I'm fragile, you know. You might like... hurt me or something. Then where would I be?" he teased back, shifting his gaze back and forth between the road and his passenger.
Luckily, it was a short drive to their destination and they pulled around back and out of sight of anyone who might be watching. Getting out of the car, Colt glanced over the top and frowned. "Ok, Chevy... Where do you want your furry friend?"

That was the great thing about Chey's relationship with Colt, it was 90% banter. They had a laugh, they were mean to each other and sarcastic and they made jokes that they knew only they could get away with. They acted up for one another. Chey acted like she wasn't completely besotted with him and he probably acted like he didn't know. It was bound to be complicated, Chey never imagined everything happening between them, but he was the only person that made her feel the way she did right now. He was the main culprit when it came to those dimples at the side of her grin. He was the only person who'd ever made her heart skip a beat when he walked into the room, no matter how much she tried to be a teenager and fall in love with a silly little school boy instead. She knew what people would tell her, they'd tell her it was her hero worship complex, they'd tell her that it was just the fact that colt had saved her but so many times. Maybe that added to it, but this wasn't silly, nor was it imagined.
"Oh yeah... You're made of porcelain... A great big porcelain grizzly bear." The roll of her eyes was followed by a bigger grin than she'd thought was possible this evening. She almost didn't want this car journey to end but she knew it had to. As he pulled up outside her house, she let out an inevitable huff. Climbing out, Chey got as far as the door frame of the car, standing her five foot four self upon it so she could look back at Colt as he gazed over the top of the vehicle as he spoke. "I dunno.. Basement maybe? We've got to have something to tie her up and theres all those book cases down there..." She wasn't completely sure Niki needed tying up but she'd rather tie the werewolf down than be a midnight scooby snack.
