The sun was just beginning to set over the horizon and Nikita wasn't in a hurry to get home when she should've been. Tonight was supposed to be a full moon and she knew it. It was marked all over the calenders at home. Johnny even reminded her before she went out to be home before dark which again, she wasn't too thrilled about. It was the fact she knew she'd be locked up in the basement until sunrise where she would be back to herself and no longer a blood thirsty werewolf looking to kill anyone that stood in her path. It wouldn't matter to her who it was. Even little eight year old Ava. She couldn't control herself under a full moon. Not even close.
Wishing to trying to avoid the whole thing, she thought of maybe going to see her big brother Seth for a while but wasn't sure on that either. What if she happened to turn when she was visiting him? She wouldn't be able to live with herself if she killed him. Not being able to deal with the overwhelming feelings of this she found herself in a park, sitting on the bench with tears rolling down her cheeks.

As she wandered down the street, hair held on top of her head in a perfect bun and her lengthly legging covered legs moving like they were floating, Chevrolet Crowe rather obnoxiously crashed the car keys hanging off her forefinger, between her ring finger and thumb. The loud jingling sound was the only thing breaking through the other wise silent park. Chey always cut through the park on the way home from practice, it was the quickest and easiest route since her father and Ryder had decided a she still wasn't ready for a car. She didn't know what exactly would make her ready. Hell, she thought they'd have been keen for her to have one since they were always telling her it wasn't safe to be walking on her own close to sun down. Her instincts were forcing her body to pull her up to her tip toes with every step and even occasionally introducing a little twirl, after all, she was alone in the park.... But then she wasn't. It wasn't until she was at the end of a pique turn that she noticed the person sharing the air space with her. Stopping at once, Chey resolved to just walk normally, still jangling her keys, albeit more rapidly as she nervously walked and hoped she'd not been noticed.
Tucking a strand of blonde hair behind her ear, Nikita sniffled and wiped her eyes with the back of her hand, suddenly glancing up when she caught sense of someone else's presence nearby. Turning her gaze, her eyes fell upon a young woman who's keys she could hear jingling between her fingers. She straightened up on the bench, wiping at her eyes again to try making herself look more presentable, not so down looking. She didn't need anyone to see her crying like that. It was a sign of weakness.
"Sorry, I didn't know anyone else was here." She spoke up in an almost crackled tone but cleared her throat so she'd sound more clear next time she spoke, a slight hint having shown when she spoke that she had in fact just been crying. Or perhaps was able to pass off as just a sore throat.

Her feet kept going with the best intentions to just keep moving and get out this park as soon as possible, it was the voice of the woman she was sharing it with that stopped her. If she'd been a car she probably would have screeched with the haste at which she stopped. Petite shoulders shrugged as her Jade eyes settled heavily on the bold blonde. "I think how this whole, ya know, public place thing works is that it's available to all the public." She wasn't being rude, just not really understanding of this girls need to apologise. It was like people that complained about the noise in a restaurant... Well if you want a quiet dinner, stay at home and order in, don't go to a place full of people. It was the moisture on her cheeks and blood shot eyes that made Chey stop and let out a little sigh, smiling gently at her. "Hey are you okay?" Chey wasn't known for crying in public, or crying anywhere that wasn't hidden by a mountain of pillows and locked away from the world, so the fact this girl was sat in a park crying... There had to be something wrong. "It looks like you've been crying."
Nikita had been a bit caught off guard when the younger woman responded, not expecting her to do so but for her to just be on her way. And hadn't been expecting what she had said either. She only nodded silently, agreeing with that. It was true after all. It was a public place so what was there to be sorry about? The woman then approached the situation at hand, asking Nikita if she was alright, stating it seemed she'd been crying.
She looked even more caught off guard by that. She wasn't use to strangers being so generous towards her. All she really had were the Rileys and her brother Seth. Shaking her head softly, she wiped what tears remained from her face as she replied, "Ever get the feeling that no matter what you do...you're still bound to screw things up?" She didn't know this woman from a hole in the wall but it's not like she gave out any personal information about herself.

Listening to the other girl talk, Chey couldn't help but gulp. Unfortunately she knew the feeling the other girl described far too well. With a heavy sigh, she nodded and moved to sit next to her. It was the weight on her shoulders weighing her down that made it hard to do anything else. Her finger tips took a hold of the hem of her skirt and she looked down. "Yeah... I get that feeling." It wasn't easy being the daughter of a legend. It was even harder knowing that no one wanted you to follow the path that you were destined for and wanted more than anything, despite the pain it had caused everyone you knew. Her brother was completely broken, all the nights taking care of her baby niece while her father refused to look at her proved that and her eldest two siblings were barely even there anymore, especially since Samara had opened the bar. "Do you wanna talk about it?" For the girl that never really had anyone to talk to, offering someone else the chance felt good.
Nikita glanced up then her eyes leveled when the woman sat down besides her. At first she'd came off a bit intimidating, like she was going to have to throw some sass at her but it hadn't been needed after all. Good thing too because she wasn't exactly in the mood for any type of fighting. Verbal or physical. Which reminded her, she had to keep an eye out for the moon once the sun finished setting. Last thing she needed was to wolf out before this woman and rip her to shreds. She didn't want that on her conscience.
"Well," She began with a huff, playing with the edge of her own shirt, feeling a little nervous. "it's kinda one of those things difficult to explain. Know what I mean?" She'd love to open up to someone right now, just let everything pour out but was that really such a good idea with someone who's name she didn't even know? "I'm Niki, by the way." She added, giving her nickname rather then her actual name. Maybe it was safer that way, to start.

Despite her initial reluctance to do so, Chey offered her bench companion a warm smile, nodding as she introduced herself. "Nice to meet you Niki. I'm Chey." It was second nature for Chey to hide her full name, she had however forgotten about the satin bag that held her ballet shoes and gave her away with the word 'Chevrolet' stitched delicately across it. "And luckily for you, I just happen to be an expert when it comes to difficult... I'm pretty sure you couldn't tell me anything that I'd be able to say I hadn't seen or heard worse." Chey was expecting some sort of boyfriend drama of some sort, not some kind of werewolf drama, but the funny thing was, her comment was valid for both.
Nikita managed to smile back as she introduced herself as 'Chey'. It was an interesting name to say the least but quickly learned what it had been short for when her gaze tossed around at her bag then back to Chey. So, her name's Chevrolet? Whatever, my name sounds like a Russian vodka. She'd thought to herself with a inwards laugh. Shaking off the thought, she refocused on the task at hand which happened to be her.
"Well then, let's see..." She began, searching for the right words to use. "Do you believe in the supernatural? Like witches, vampires, that sorta thing?" This was the first test. To see how she'd react to her question and if she in fact did believe in those things or thought the idea was a complete joke. It probably sounded like a crazy kind of question to ask too but how else was she supposed to approach her with 'I'm a frigin' werewolf, lady'?

Chevrolet's first instinct was this girl had seen something that spooked her, something she wasn't sure of. The amount of times in her life Chey had met someone who'd seen something for the first time that terrified them.... Well it just seemed the most likely explanation. The problem with people's introductions into the supernatural was that there were two types of them - The ones you could be honest with, who would understand, who would keep things on the down low and who wouldn't panic and then there were those you had to lie to, who you had to tell everything would be okay and come up with a reasonable explanation for what they may have seen.... Problem was? She didn't know which Niki and she didn't know how to find out. "I guess it depends on why you asked...."
DOH! That wasn't right was it? Samara or Ryder would probably be giving her that look right now. That 'are you kidding me?' look. They'd know exactly what to say and how to say it but that was due to the fact they'd been trained and prepared for this. It was only after she was done panicking a little about whether what she said was wrong that she started to panic about what Niki had said in the first place. Her brows furrowed into a frown quickly and she looked at Niki intently, waiting for her answer but also all of a sudden on guard. What if she knew who she was? Chey was always told that her family history made her unsafe, that she'd be a target, she just hoped to god that this girl wasn't about to go psycho on her.... She was, however, anticipating an on the spot attack, not the effects of a full moon.
