This was it. It was time. It was time for Lydia Martin to rejoin normality and stop pretending that everything wasn't happening, that her return to school would mean everything was back to normal. She knew it wasn't going to but she had to live that lie, it was all she had. Her family had whisked her away to the south of France for the summer, it was good to get away, it helped with her facade, but if a summer of munching macaroons and eyeing hot french guys didn't bring a genuine smile back to Lydia Martin's face, there was probably very little that would. Despite that, she knew that if she had to go back to school on Monday... She wasn't doing it with last year's wardrobe. A day of shopping with daddy's credit card was sure to at least make her feel a little better. She already had three bags hanging off her arm and intended to at least triple that by the end of the day. She was a woman on a mission and nothing was going to stop her... Except of course the shoes falling through the bottom of a paper bag and falling to the ground. She released a sigh and moved to the ground to grab the shoes, cursing under her breath.

It was a gorgeous day out. The birds were chirping about and flying happily. It was beautiful, but still she wished summer was back so she didn‘t have to go to school… It was staring back on Monday and this girl wasn’t pleased about it. Yeah sure pride in being on top in her class, but someone always strolls in and takes that from her and she doesn’t like that, but what can she do? It isn’t as if she can buy her way to the top or anything. She was glad her parents let her go shopping alone even thought she is sixteen. She didn’t want them lingering about as she was shopping picking out old granny clothes and panties for her.
She surely does look old enough to shop alone, but this young-in is jail bait still to most. Besides she wouldn’t want to be shopping with her parents how lame is that. She was like any other teen girl liked to shop and hang around at the mall get a cup of coffee. Sure, she probably shouldn't drink it, but it seems like a nice treat. She would be hyperactive later, but ah well. Who cares right? She didn’t. She sipped her coffee as she made her way threw the mall and slipping into a new shoe store that opened up.
Sapphire loved shoes and had to browse the aisles there is just something about the smell of new shoes that made her want to buy them all the time. She could hear her father now… ‘You have enough of those ‘he always hated when she or her mother would buy shoes. He didn’t get a woman’s fetish for them, but what man does really? She browsed the Aisle until she found a nice pair of black stilettos’ she liked, but she would probably end up killing herself in them. She got them anyways. She still had a day of shopping ahead of her.
As she came out of the store she seem Miss Lydia Martin. Lydia was one of the most popular girls at school, and was just a grade higher then her and she was Sapphire Idol in a way. The girl was flawless and threw some of the best parties in the School. She seen her cursing at a box of shoes. “Need some help?” Sapphire asked. “ I think they should have given you a bigger and better bag.” It looked as if the they had fallen straight threw the bottom of the bag.

Lydia was better than this, better than the nervous break down she was threatening to have. The shoes falling to the ground were almost the last straw for Lydia. Almost. As her hands grasped the box, she heard a voice above her. She turned, her red curls cascading down beside her face as she prayed her eyes weren't already red. She smiled at the pretty blonde and shook her head, scooping her box under her arm and standing up. "Yeah... These paper bags.... All about saving the environment, that's great, but they have absolutely no strength to them." It was never known with Lydia if she'd give a person the time of day, yet as soon as she saw this girls shoes and the shirt she was wearing... It was like instant acceptance. "Where did you get that?" She asked with her finger pointing towards her bag. "Either that's the new Prada or the best knock off I've ever seen... Either way I have been on the waiting list for two and a half months and I want one!"

Lydia had scooped up her shoes, and of course Sapphire had offer to help her idol, but she shook her had saying she didn’t need any help, but hey at least she got a smile out of Lydia instead of that cold hard bitch stare she sometimes seemed to give out to certain people. Sapphire was glad she didn’t ignore her either. If she had been ignored that would have been tragic. “I hear you there… I am waiting for the day that they tell us we have to bring our own bags.” she said with a little huff at the end indicating like anyone would want to bring their own bags to the mall that is just silly.. Some people may do just that, but seriously who wants to walk into a mall with an arm full of bags… Sure walking out of the mall with them is more then expected…
Sapphire always liked to dress in the best sort of clothes and she was a bit of a spoiled brat, but only because her parents tended to fear her after them fires that manifested in the house.. Not to mention her mother thinks she is some kind of demon. Lydia had pointed towards her bag and asked he where she had gotten that, and explained how she wanted one and has been on a wait list for months. She of course knew wait lists sucked royally, but her father tended to work in the city a lot and knew the right people and her mother convinced the man to always find a way to get her what she wanted. It was nice to have that sort of power over people even if she herself doesn’t understand it.
“Oh this. My father got it for me, and no it’s not a knock off… He has connections with certain people. I can get you one if you like.” She thought hey if she does this for Lydia perhaps, it would get her in the door with her. “Feel free to have a closer look if you like.” she said holding out the bag. She was sure that Lydia was indeed an expert at what is a knock off and what is not. “Have you been in that new shoe store yet?” Sapphire asked pointing to the store she herself just came from. “I am telling you they have some fabulous name brand shoes if you haven’t gone in there yet.” Sapphire wasn’t sure which place she got the shoes from that’s bag broke some stores are just so cheap and buy the cheapest ones that don’t do anything like Lydia said just to save the earth and it is good, but people want bags that last and not ones that have them carrying all their items around the mall.
She could see it now if a person had to carry loads of items and security guards chasing after you…going ‘miss do you have a receipt for that’ it was something she didn’t want to dwell on too long and await Lydia’s answers. She was sure Lydia was doing the same thing she was.. Shopping for School. Sapphire hoped this year would be better then all that crazy stuff that happened last year, but hey at least it drew the attention away from her not being exactly normal either.

As soon as Sasha said she was able to get Lydia one of the bags she so badly wanted, her head kinked to the side. She'd held out the bag and Lydia took it into her hands, looking it over. Her eyes ran over it, fingers running over the detail. She let out a content sigh and even went to the lengths of smelling the leather. Lydia Martin was anything but stupid. She had a lot of friends, but there were very few people she was actually close to, she had a lot of people around her that were just good for what they could do for her. Lydia wasn't sure what Sapphire would be, she didn't know anything about her just yet, but she was positive she could be useful to her. She was still looking over the bag when she asked her about the new shoe store. "Please... I have a store card already...." With a smile she handed the pretty blonde back her purse, looking over her with a hand on her hip, evaluating her, before eventually pointing her finger at her. "You're going to help me find something amazing to wear for the first day back at school!"

Sapphire really could get the girl in front of her one of them bags and hoped it really would get her in with Miss Lydia Martin so if she approved of the purse and thought for herself it was indeed real then well she could get Lydia one for sure and see how things go with them. Lydia seemed to smell the bags leather and ran her fingers over the bag. She seemed to release a content sigh, which must have meant the bag did met Lydia’s seal of approval.
Most girls did want to be like Lydia and it did seem like it too a lot to get in her good graces. She’d have her father get her another one as soon as she got home. He’d moan, but hey, it was worth listening too just to make Lydia happy… She should have figured Lydia would have hit up the new store already when she said she already got a card there… “Didn’t take you long to get one and you must admit they have fabulous shoes? I was seriously in heaven,” she told her…
Lydia returned to her, her purse and placed it back in the crook of her arm. “I take it. That it passes the Lydia seal of approval?” She asked her browse raised a little bit with a grin on her face and hell she felt lucky that Lydia was still standing there giving her the time of day.. It wasn’t long before Lydia seemed to be evaluating her… and she didn’t like that under the microscope feeling, but she put on her cheeriest and sincere smile and tried to act as if she didn’t notice anything at all. Sure, she’d be gutted if Lydia criticized the hell out of her, but that is the price of being close to Lydia isn’t it? You have to be socially acceptable. Lydia had her hands on her hips, and finally pointed finger at her saying that she would be helping her pick out a killer outfit for the start of school.
“I would be honored to help you find a killer outfit for the first day of school.” She told Lydia… Hell she knew when they were finished Lydia will be have boys crawling at her feet for a date! They would forget all about Lydia’s freak-outs last year. Sapphire was sure she wanted them behind her and wouldn’t mention that at all “Honey when we are done finding you an outfit. I am telling you the boys will be lining up down the street to get a date with you.” She said with a playful wink… “Shopping here we come.” She said with a soft giggle, and waited for Lydia to lead the way to her favorite store.

Lydia shrugged, smirking to herself a little. "It's hard for them to not give you a store card when your daddies credit limit is what mines is... I might not have that little bag you've got there but... My dad wants to keep me on a certain path..." The path her dad wanted to keep her on was the one that led away from guys Jackson, the one that kept her out of the trouble she'd been in the last year. "And the bag gets the seal of approval..." Between getting locked in a school with a psycho killer, ending up in hospital, disappearing naked into the woods, smashing up her mirror and 'losing her boyfriend', Lydia was a mess. It was only the bottle of pills she kept hidden in her purse that kept her going but no one knew that, no one ever would. She'd stay forever demure and no one would see that her heart was breaking, that the ginger princess could barely put one foot in front of the other without wanting to fall. Oh god, how she wanted to fall.
She'd smiled at Sapphires response, turning quickly with a flick of her hair and started to walk, expecting Sapphire to keep up. She didn't look back at her, but she knew she was there. "So you know who I am... does this mean you go to Beacon Hills High?" There was a sense of curiosity surrounding Lydia. She wanted to know who this girl was and what she knew. If she was just another freak wanting to know if it was true she'd had a complete break down. It was no wonder a girl couldn't heal when all she got was questions and criticism. No one would ever understand what happened to those five teenagers last year, no one but Scott, Alison, Stiles, Jackson and herself. They were the only people in school that knew and that kept them connected whether they liked it or not.

Lydia had such a gorgeous smile that could light up a room and Sapphire listened to her as she said that it was hard for them not to give her store credit because of her father and herself credit. She couldn’t blame her father wanted to keep her on a certain path. He probably wanted her to marry so rich dude that would take care of his little girl just like he does now and would treat her right. It was every parents dream wasn’t it. “That is so true how could they not. If they hadn’t given you one then they must not want your business.” Sapphire said… it was so true. The Martins were very well respected people in Beacon Hills and you’d want them on your side. She was glad the bag did get Lydia’s seal of approval. It pleased her that it did. She’d have her daddy get her another straight away just so Lydia could go back to school all the more fabulous not that she needed help with that.
She followed Lydia as they made their way to the shops to help her find a killer first day outfit. Moreover, as if she were some rock stars roadie she had followed Lydia around when she asked her if she goes to Beacon Hills. “Yes, I do. I am a grade below you. I am starting my sophomore year. Oh joy.” She said with fake enthusiasm. She’d rather be out there in the real world then be at school, but hell don’t most teenagers think like that? She had browsed the stores windows as they walked past a few stores. “ I am sure we are going to have one hell of a year this year with most of the staff being new and all especially the principal. I hope he or she isn’t going to be as freaky as the last.”
If she only knew the truth about Gerard. She would never know either since she didn’t share the secrets Lydia knew. “ My name is Sapphire by the way. Silly me I don’t think I gave it to you. I am sorry.” She had said she felt really silly not telling it to Lydia before.. Oops. She wasn’t going to ask her any questions about last year either. They past a few more stores.. And came upon one that sold mostly designer clothing.. “ How about this store?” She asked Lydia. “ I am sure we can find you a killer outfit in there to make all the boys drop like flies.” She said with a cheerful smile.
