The boy juggled the ball on his knees, back and forth. Barely taking a breath, he counted. "122, 123, 124." The sharp voice said, the number going higher every time the soccer ball was successfully passed onto the other knee. His movements seemed almost automatic, like the young Enma had practiced it millions of times. 

Reaching 150, the soccer ball fell onto the ground, landing with a slight noise. The only lights on the field were from Enma's car, making the scene mysterious in a way. Eyeing the net of the soccer goal, Enma's let out a slight snarl. The mind of the alpha begin to drift, like it often did when he was alone. All Enma could think about was Matthew and his mother. Anger begin to surge through his body. The head of his former stepfather emerged at the corner of the net. The head laughed at Enma, almost mocking him in a way. 

He kicked at the ball, the sports equipment going straight through the net, a hole being produced. Happy with his little game of hitting the target of Matthew with a soccer ball, Enma walked over to the hood of his car. Sniffing the air, he felt a scent, one he had not known. Someone was there, and someone was watching him. 

"Who the hell is there?" he asked, the male's voice had an angry tone. He had not wished to be bothered, only wanting to be alone with the pattern black and white soccer ball and his thoughts. "I know your there buddy. And trust me, it would be easier for the both of us if you show yourself, because believe me, you do not want me to come to you." Enma said, the male's eyes showing a small red glow.

As luck would have it, Derek was not the only Alpha in town that could fit the quota Deucalion had established. There was one other. A prime opportunity presented itself late in the afternoon, when his would-be pack-mate took a gander out into a soccer field to do battle with invisible foes lurking in nets. How did he know the time, the place, and the fact that his target was here? There was both a logical and fantastical answer for that question. Logically, Deucalion had been without sight for some time yet and had to use other senses to make up for the one he lost, making his already enhanced senses extraordinary. The fantastical answer wasn't quite so easy to follow. Taking the power of his previous pack and the power of others had given him a profound gift; one that he had noticed even at the beginning, when he killed his then-beta.

While his eyes were open and unseeing behind glasses of black, when the Alpha wished it, his wolfish counterpart would grant even greater grasp on his surroundings. It was almost like seeing. Where his ears, nose, and hands/feet overlapped, a vivid image presented itself in his head. While he had never before entered in Beacon Hills, never being able to memorize any portion of it by sight, he was able to grasp as much as a person with tunnel vision - without the need for the eye portion of it.

But it was hardly consequential. The point derived was this: While it was hard, it was not impossible to fathom his surroundings. For instance - Deucalion slowly traveled down the sidewalk that lined the parking lot, cane measuring distance and feet determining the surface composition of the ground beneath him. His typical black glasses covered his sightless eyes, soon to give them away as fast as his cane would. He'd rather that be the case then his enemies see him for what they thought he was. If they saw his eyes off the start, they would be more likely to attack him - after all, what could he do in retaliation?

What most failed to note and soon all would draw from his prowess was that he was no weaker than he had been previously. If anything, his blindness gave him resolve and a strength he would not have obtained otherwise. Achieving sight again would find him as an unstoppable force. As it was, neither Derek nor Scott possessed a significant challenge to him at all. He also sincerely doubted the boy he was visiting today would be either. But, Alphas were strong. And packs of Alphas were stronger. If he wanted his pack to get stronger, it was clear he needed more Alphas.

That was where Enma came in. While Deucalion didn't know as much as he really wanted to about the boy, he knew a lot more than the boy probably thought anyone else knew. His mother, his missing father - his own affliction... The fact that he was an Alpha Wolf.

Not long after Deucalion arrived, his supernatural hearing graced him with the sound of tightly woven fabric snapping under the force of an extremely fast moving object. The Alpha didn't need to see what happened to know. The past was catching up to the present. Enma would be agitated when Deucalion arrived. It wasn't much of an issue, it just required a bit more careful deliberation and deliverance. Play the boys wants and he would have himself another pack member under his fold.

The teen's scent drove past him then - suggesting the path that the boy's feet led. Deucalion altered his stance and strove forward, carefully keeping the balance between his feet and hands. As it was, he was moving faster than any blind man should be able to safely.

Once the boy sniffed him out, he slowed his pace, no longer needing to delay the teen Alpha's car ride away. The first words came in anger and Deucalion confirmed his suspicions right away. Silently, he waded through the berating punishment of words to stand a few feet away from Enma.

"I am here." Deucalion presented himself with either arm outstretched, still clutching his cane. Shortly then-after, his cane was replaced on the ground and he arched his head querilessly to the side. Was that a hint of the wolf he scented? No restraint. That was unfortunate, but the boy could still be of use to him."I have little time to waste here and I'm sure you want to get going, so I'll cut right into it. I know what you are, who you are, and what you were. I also know what you seek. I can give you the closest you will ever find to it in Beacon Hills. Not only that, but I can provide you with the tools to hunt down the one who took your mother."

The Alpha took his staff in both hands, resting them on top of it as he stood up straight and waited for the boy's response. Enma's anger was ignored. It wasn't important. If the boy truly sought his mother, he would listen. There was just no other option.

"I have little time to waste here and I'm sure you want to get going, so I'll cut right into it. I know what you are, who you are, and what you were. I also know what you seek. I can give you the closest you will ever find to it in Beacon Hills. Not only that, but I can provide you with the tools to hunt down the one who took your mother."

Completely flabbergasted. Only being in Beacon Hills for 1 month now, and already someone knew what and who he was. And of his mother. But this man did not scare him one bit. The figure of him was shown thanks to the car lights, a large stick being shown. The mysterious talker seemed to use it for walking, leading him to believe it to be a cane. Taking in his 'data' so far, Enma knew the man was someone who has aged, as he doubted someone in their teens would be using a cane.

However, the man's words had to be taken into accord. He knew of his mother. And supposedly, the tools to find Matthew. Enma balled his fists, the Alpha's claws digging into his skin like shovels producing a red liquid. He tried to suppress the anger, as the young male was often like this whenever the vampire was mentioned.

"And then what? I'm not stupid, you scratch my back, I will have to scratch yours. Know that you know of the supernatural skills I possess, you must want me to do something major."

Enma began to walk forward, wanting to see the man face to face. Awaiting an answer, he took in the figures. Glasses, well built, and as he guessed before a cane. Running a hand through his hair, Enma continued.

"How do you know about me? Because know that you know, I might have to kill you. Your meddling in my plans."

It was true, a middle aged man learning secrets not for his ears was troublesome. The man did his research and he did it well. Very few knew of his mother, and unfortunately, word could get around fast. The young teenager still had things to do, people to visit. He still had to build his pack, and find the wretched being known as his stepfather. A slight snarl for a threat, Enma eyed the black shades of the male who know knew his life. 

"Now tell me, who the hell are you?"

--"And then what? I'm not stupid, you scratch my back, I will have to scratch yours. Now that you know of the supernatural skills I possess, you must want me to do something major."--

"I don't ask for anything. I'm simply a talent agent, looking for new aspiring wolves for a venture I've prepared." All true. If the boy expected Deucalion to simply reveal his hand and secrets, he would have another thing coming. Even his own wolves were hard pressed to find out more than their objectives. Trust was not so easily earned. As for doing something major, the plans were already in motion, it would only distract Enma from what Deucalion needed of him if he revealed the master plan.

--"How do you know about me? Because now that you know, I might have to kill you. Your meddling in my plans."--

The anger was there. Twisting, turning, warping the boy's words and wisdom. Unseemly and overly dramatic, but this was what he had to work with.

Deucalion took his cane in his hands and broke it down into its separate pieces, holding it between his palms. He considered telling Enma his sources, but doubted the boy would know them and it wasn't particularly relevant anyway. "Feel free to attempt it. Know that I will stop you - but it is well within your rights to challenge me." Not a trace of hesitation, worry, or fear in his words, voice, or movements. There was no need, he had nothing to fear from the boy. His threats were empty and weak.

A snarl and the boy threw another set of violent words at him. If Deucalion didn't already know better, he would have smiled at the boy's lack of self-control. How very similar he was to the twins. How easy he was to rouse to violence. He'd fit right in, Deucalion was sure.

"If you really must know; My name is Deucalion, and I am the Alpha among a pack of Alphas." The Alpha flicked his wrist and brought the cane to its whole state again, resting it once more on the ground. "Although it may not interest you now, I will share a bit of information with you that you may not know. There is a force moving into Beacon Hills. This force cares for us very little and is quite prone to hunting down every last wolf they can find. So let me rephrase my proposal so that you can better understand where I stand."

Deucalion leaned back on his cane, holding himself tall. "I am offering you a place in my pack. This is not something that I simply throw around and is not something for you to take lightly. There are other wolves in town and, while it may seem quaint to gather with them and form your own pack, I must impress upon you the urgency of the situation. With me, not only will you be with a group of like-minded individuals -- I will also provide you with any and all information I find on your step-father and mother's whereabouts. The pack will protect you from any and all threats upcoming into the town and you will finally belong to the pack that you deserve."

A small smile flashed on the blind man's face. "However, I know that you are very close to lunging out at me now regardless of what I've said or could say. So I'll offer you this: If you can take my cane from my hands, you can be on your way." He readjusted his grip. "Deal?"

A new venture? Enma began to wonder what exactly this man had in mind. He watched as the speaker before him began to take apart the cane. This man could stop him? Had he not known who he was up against? Enma could instantly take out the middle age male. Moving forward, the Alpha prepared his attack. A simple leg sweep and a jab into the ground with werewolf claws; simple. But something froze him in his tracks as the man continued. Deucalion was his name, and supposedly, he was the Alpha leader of an Alpha pack. 'What the hell?' Enma thought, not knowing what to make of Deucalion's words. Was that even possible? Thinking back on his werewolf research, he had never known of an Alpha pack.

And then Deucalion talked of a force, who wanted to exterminate werewolf's. "Hunters?" Enma muttered, knowing who the famous group of people who made it their mission to hunt anything who even had the tag of supernatural. He listened as the Alpha leader continued his words. 

"I am offering you a place in my pack. This is not something that I simply throw around and is not something for you to take lightly. There are other wolves in town and, while it may seem quaint to gather with them and form your own pack, I must impress upon you the urgency of the situation. With me, not only will you be with a group of like-minded individuals -- I will also provide you with any and all information I find on your step-father and mother's whereabouts. The pack will protect you from any and all threats upcoming into the town and you will finally belong to the pack that you deserve."

Staring straight into the dark sunglasses, Enma thought of the words. A place in a pack alphas. And on top of that, Enma could be closer to finding his mother and getting his revenge. It seemed like he could have his cake and eat it too. But, he was not one to be under a leader. It just wasn't him. However, if he looked around, he was alone. No pack at all, no Beta under him. The young Alpha was alone from the start. His mentor had died, giving Enma alpha status, along with everyone else in the old pack.

Deucalion said some words, and Enma smirked. It was like a small test, to see if Enma could take away the cane.

"I have some questions first. Like, how the hell does an Alpha pack even work? Alphas are leaders, and if all leaders are in a pack, what the hell does that make you? And, I'm not won to take orders from someone. If I even think about joining your pack, don't expect me to get down on my knees and praise you. It's not me."

Deucalion was disappointed. He had expected the boy to attack him and, instead, his words had halted his advance. Enma was showing more reasonablity than the Alpha had first suspected he possessed. The best he could draw out of the younger Alpha was a few steps. Perhaps he wasn't going to make all that good of a fit in his pack after all. Deucalion remained optimistic. He needed at least one other wolf with some sense. Too often his pack decided that violence was the quickest and most efficient way to deal with any and every problem. Most of the time it was. The Alpha wasn't against a few people dying here and there, but there was much to be gained from a little subtlety every now and then.

--"Hunters?"--

No more than a whisper.

'They aren't the only ones who have found their home in Beacon Hills. Far from it. Soon even you will find that out, regardless of who you think knows your secret.' Deucalion may have been one of the only ones who really knew the full extent of the danger of what was coming; Him and maybe the veterinarian - Deaton, who knew far much more than a man of rudimentary animal science should. Although, that was a task for another time. The good doctor’s hut of mountain ash wouldn't keep him safe forever, especially not from the evil that invoked such heinous schemes that they made Deucalion’s morbid plans pale in comparison.

The Alpha’s words had drawn a relapse from the boy and there was a brief moment when he could almost hear the mental gears rotating in the boy’s mind, trying to register and comprehend everything Deucalion had laid upon him. If there was a more efficient path, Deucalion would have taken it, but there simply wasn't. As his pack grew larger and the danger grew closer, less time could be divvied out to pass around answers to every waking question. There were some things for him to know and everyone else to find out. If he was going to prepare this pack for what was to come, he needed time to plan.

He could feel Enma’s eyes on him, feel the weight of that stare, trying desperately to divine at least a little more information from Deucalion’s black glasses. The Alpha knew the boy was going to be hesitant, regardless of the path to convince him. He didn't have to wait long for the hesitation to find its way out into the open and into the young Alpha’s words.

“You really think I’m that boring? I’m a man with far more vision than a monarchist rule with a couple of submissive slaves beneath me. In fact...” Deucalion rested his cane against his waist and gripped either side of his glasses with his hands. “...That’s why I’m here: To show you just how much vision a blind man can have.” He took off his glasses, revealing vivid red, but clearly blind eyes beneath the black veil. The Alpha replaced the glasses a moment later, clasping his hands in front of him.

Deucalion took up his cane again. “But that’s enough dawdling. What is it going to be? I have important matters to deal with and I’m sure you have some of your own to attend to.” And there was the extra small bit of knowledge that the Alpha possessed. While Enma wouldn't realize it until it was much too late, Deucalion was not alone tonight. He knew for certain that Ethan stalked around somewhere nearby, out of even his range of senses. The Alpha knew not whether his twin had tagged along, but any fight that Enma started was destined to fail, one way or another. He’d have taken this venture alone, but the twins had offered and he hated to turn them down. Rejection never did bode well with them.

'That's a plus.' Enma said to himself, satisfied with the words. He almost groaned at the thought of Deucalion trying to get him to go on errands, just because the man was the leader. He reviewed the benefits of being in the Alpha pack, and weighed in on the cons. Not surprising him, the pros were wedged into the ground, while the cons were high into the heavens. Smirking, Enma held out his hand to Deucalion. Shaking his head, he pulled it back, remembering that the Alpha was blind.

"Fine. I'll join. But only because you will help me find my mother. After that is said and done, I will continue on, building up my own pack. I'll meet the rest of them tomorrow."

Enma looked at the cane in Deucalion's hands, remembering the challenge. He was one not to back away from a fight, and deep down, wanted to test his skills against the Alpha of Alphas. Going for a leg sweep, Enma would follow up his go to move with an axe kick. The axe kick would slam Deucalion into the ground. If the leg sweep was missed, Enma would go for an open palm blow to the chest, adding in some extra werewolf strength. The male's battle strategy seemed to have a tie to Tae Kwon Doe, making him a more skilled fighter than most werewolves, who used simple punches and fighting moves. His mentor had made it his number one mission for the young Alpha to be a super soldier.

"'Continue on'?" Deucalion laughed, "What do you think I'm offering you, a summer vacation?" The Alpha didn't ponder long on his words, because he had already sensed Enma's intent changing. He was moving again, this time confident in his fight against Deucalion. Research had gleaned only tidbits of the boy's fighting style, but he did know more of the boy's original pack leader. As opposed to a quick assortment of flailing claws and brief displays of acrobatics, Enma was going to attempt to use real battle-tested fighting moves against him. While still fairly inconsequential, Deucalion still had to be on his guard. After all, being blind did have its downsides.

Feet planted on the ground, ears open and nose seeking intent, Deucalion shifted back, spinning and stepping carefully beyond the range of Enma's sweep. To anyone who wasn't incredibly scrutinous, the Alpha had dodged the move at leisure, seeming unfazed at all - like nothing had changed from the pleasant conversation they had been partaking in. His oppenent wasn't quite so easily dissuaded. With a quick recollection of momentum and a sound of rushing air that took the extraordinary hearing of Deucalion to register, a open-fisted palm blow threatened to hit the middle-aged man's center of mass. Twirling his cane in a rapidly fast half-circle, Deucalion opted for a counter attack even as Enma tried to land the blow. Switching to two hands at the last moment, the Alpha brought the solid force of the staff in at the boy's upper arm at beyond werewolf strength and speed. The intent was to block the blow and land an equally damaging hit at the same time.

If the boy was fast enough to pull away at the last moment, which was a definite posibility depending on just how much the young Alpha was commited to the strike, Deucalion would launch an attack of his own, turning his swipe into another spin of the cane. Once his cane rotated fully, he would do another brief spin and execute a two-handed cross-attack from above at Enma's shoulder down. Depending on location, he also considered following it up with a few more volleys of the same, changing direction and tempo. While it would appear that he was hacking at weeds under his porch, each attack would be an aimed strike with a purpose to give him information on where to swing next.

However, if he did make contact with the boy's arm, there was little left to achieve except perhaps an aligned blow on Enma's upper body to knock him to the floor. After that, he'd turn and step back.

Deucalion's experience in fighting was broad. While he had never had much chance to study form, he knew fundamental counters to nearly every attack. Years of his life had been spent testing these skills again and again versus the Argents and his own packs. Achieving the state he was in today only proved to prolong the prowess he possessed. Many had tried and failed to kill him and he was going to show why that was the case.

Deucalion fought a bit differently than most werewolves, only partially because of his handicap. He fought with intelligence, with calculated risks and blows. If an attack was too risky, he didn't execute it and instead stayed on the defensive. The same was true both ways. The Alpha didn't need outlandish displays of strength to win a fight, he only had to beat his oppenent. This he did in the most efficient and tireless way he could accomplish

As the leg sweep was dodged, Enma proceeded with his next attack, the open palm strike to the chest. He would throw a little more werewolf strength into this one, his eyes glowing a tint of red. The young alpha glared at the cane, as Deucalion began to spin it like a flag twirler. Enma was taken by surprise when the cane hit him in the upper arm, with such force that made his hand drop. The boy screamed out with a werewolf yell, his eyes know glowing full red. 

A blow was then aimed at Enma's upper chest, and grazed him as he rolled onto his back, dodging it. Looking back up at Deucalion, Enma now had his fangs out, as he let out another werewolf growl. The growl was loud, and without a doubt could be heard far away with trained werewolf ears. 

Getting up, Enma ran toward his challenger, jumping up in the air. Spinning around gracefully, the Alpha aimed a deadly dropkick to Deucalion's chest, hoping to push the blind man off of his feet. Enma's soccer cleats would also add in some more pain. If this hit, Enma would then try an reach for the cane, stripping it away from Deucalion.

However if the hit missed, Enma would surely going flying, until he caught himself onto the ground. After that, Enma would then run toward Deucalion, then jumping up into the air. He would then try to do a powerful axe kick, hoping to slam Deucalion into the ground. At the end of this, he would then again reach for the cane.
