The loneliest people are the kindest
The saddest people smile the brightest
The most damaged people are the wisest
All because they do not wish to see others suffer the way they do

Isaac couldn't help but roll his eyes when the Alpha told him that if his skills were better then he would have been able to catch it. Except the element of surprise always took Isaac by... well... surprise. He never was good at expecting the unexpected. His life had been a constant up until being bitten. Now to live with new things popping up left and right, it still left him struggling to keep up. "Says the guy who threw it." His words were childish, like a child who was pouting.
The teen paused for a minute. Derek did have a point. Who would believe that Derek had a playful side. That he wasn't all snark, snippy retorts, frowns, and ready to break your bones to prove a point? No one. "Touche," he remarked. No one would believe him. Darn Derek for being almost impossible to embarrass because no one would believe him.
Isaac actually felt honored that Derek wanted to take him to look at new homes. The train depot was better than his old house, but he did miss the creature comforts of a house. But even when he visited Scott's or Stiles', he still had issues feeling completely comfortable. He doubted he would ever feel 100% comfortable back in a house. But being the given to have input in a house, it made him feel a little better.
"A house..." A house for the pack. A pack house. Where they would really get to be like a real family. The thought made him smile. A place to call home with people who actually cared about him and he cared about. It wouldn't be a house of horror. No. It would be built around being family, and love. It had been something he longed for since Cam left to join the military, ever since his dad turned to alcohol to solve all his problems. "Some place close to the woods so we can run." His words were quiet, unsure if Derek wanted to move back to be close to the woods. But the wolf inside him wanted the freedom the woods offered.
The teen nodded when he was told to eat. He had actually started to forget about the food before him. He finally took a bite of his pizza, not even thinking twice about breaking it into smaller pieces.
