all about me
Kasey is a pretty stereotypical guy who fully hasn’t understand that he’s on the edge of registering into ‘old man’ territory. Growing up in the Ozarks makes him a little trashy though, so he tends to find his entertainment in the usual booze and woman. Kasey is usually on the more vocal side when it comes to speaking his mind, and he can be as loud as he wants and doesn’t tend to care if it will get him in trouble. Like a bull in the pen, he’s almost always looking for some sort of fight with someone who dares to look at him the wrong way. He can also be rather suspicious and sketch of things outside of his comfort zone (eg. Fine dining Japanese sushi verse fried frog legs caught himself in a swamp). As far as hunters go, he can be pretty indifferent to when it comes to monsters, he looks for the hunt and if something attacks him, then it's dead meat. Considering his history and how he started, he tends to not joke around when it comes to hunting, it's probably the only time when he actually does get rather serious about something, that or when he's under some sort of duress. Since he doesn't follow a code, he's a little more on blurred lines and shades of grey as far as anything goes, and sometimes that gets him into trouble with other hunters. After all, he's not a legacy or from a clan unlike some of the others. Despite some of these faults though, Kasey generally can be a good guy when he wants to be, especially to those he actually likes or considers a friend or an alley. He'll tend to look out for their best interest, even when they're not expecting it and he'll defend them until his last dying breath. This overprotective drive tends to kick in the most when it comes to his daughter, much to her annoyance but hey, not every parent is perfect.
history.
this is the story of my life
Kasey was born in a fairly rural area of Missouri that’s usually identified as the Ozarks. They make up of little houses and trailers scattered throughout forestry lands in the shade of the mountainous region that spreads into four other states. Born second, after his sister, the Radley children grew up a life with a needy mother and an absentee father. Thumper Radley was usually out cooking in Meth labs or pissing off some of the higher ups (drug bosses) in the area, which either way, is a dangerous game to play. With their father gone all the time, their mother turned into a needy woman starving for attention, smothering her children with her hysterics and being kind to them in one instant, and freaking out on them in the next. This lead to the children becoming more independent and eventually, go looking out for their own troubles just to escape their mother, but in the end, they always ended up coming back, or at least Kasey did.
It taught him how to survive, as well as the people around him. His uncle in particular was where he learned how hunt animals out in the wild, skin, and cook. With his friends though, he picked up the nasty habit of drinking a little too often and a little too early. As for his sister, she turned down the dangerous pathway of drugs and sex and never looked back. She got into trouble a lot with some of the local guys. Later down the road, their father died from a meth mishap. The lab exploded while Thumper had been cooking, or so that was according to all of his dad’s friends but Kasey wasn’t sure if he entirely believed them. So he went around, poking his nose into business that was not meant to be his and asking people things that shouldn’t have been asked. So the people in question retaliated. Kasey got his ass handed to him that night, and he took it as a sign of being weak, but not only that, but also that he needed to get out of there for good. So come the age of eighteen, he went over to the high school where he heard there was an U.S. Army Recruiter and never looked back.
The army only furthered his skills as a shooter, soon becoming a sharpershooter and getting trained as a sniper. There he also made friends, real friends. Not just some people to go drunk or stumble around in the woods with. Some might say that the Army actually cleaned up Kasey, if only but a little. He still retained many of his good old qualities that the Orzaks left him with. With the army, he had seen people die, he had also helped people, and heard the bullets whistle past his years. Kasey ended up doing four years with them before he got a strange call from his sister, right when his best friend also got medically discharged. While he didn’t entirely want to go home, he knew he had to go back and check in on his sister. So he did, and ended up crossing paths with something that had not been expected. Kasey saw his sister the night he got back, with a swollen belly from a pregnancy. She didn’t know the father, and that’s what he thought this had been all about, but he had been wrong in the end.
People had been dying more than usual in the Ozarks as of late, and not from meth explosions or the usual run of the mill murders because from those, people usually just ended up missing. No, the people were found but their hearts were missing. And as his sister tried to explain this, the full moon rose up high in the sky and exposed her for what she was: a werewolf. What happened in the next few minutes, to this day, Kasey still can’t recall other than he took her life in that moment. It happened fast and brutal, but not only that, he cut open her womb and took her baby, his niece, in an attempt to save her. And save her he did, and April Radley went missing, just like another person who pissed off the lords of the Ozarks. Tied down to weight and thrown into one of the swampish rivers, never to be heard from again. His niece survived though, taken to a hospital and everything without much question for city folk never liked to ask about the Ozarks or the people from it. He claimed her as his own child though, deciding that she would never find out the faith of her mother and he figured, whoever the real father was, would never come looking.
That next day, he had to send in his resignation letter to the Army, stating that he found out that he had a daughter and the mother had passed, that his daughter needed him now. Instead though, he turned to his best friend from the Army, and his wife, and asked them to be her godparents and to look after her for he knew, what he was about to do would never be a stable life for a little girl. He soon turned his attention to werewolves, and what came after them. The world was never the same after that incident. It felt like opening Pandora’s Box and everything had come out, and he knew it just wasn’t in his little rural area now, but all over the United States. He took to learning the hunting trade by poking around and got picked up as an apprentice for a little while until he knew his way around the trade and craft. He drops by his daughter every month now for a week at a time, getting to know her and watch her grow up. Despite his absence, their relationship remains well but maybe it’s because she doesn’t know that he’s out there risking his life in ways more than she could ever imagine.
Only this time, sixteen years later, Kasey finds himself staying by her now and her god parents. They live in Beacon Hills, and normally, he wouldn't have thought anything of it. But there had been a lot of supernatural activity, or at least, activity that could only be explained by wild animal attacks and really, how often do those happen? Through hunter connections, he found that more were wandering there, so Kasey followed suit and for once, has been staying for more than a week.
