It's only half past the point of no return
The tip of the iceberg.
The tip of the iceberg.
Stiles hopped into his jeep after yelling goodbye to his dad and started the vehicle up; hearing it roll and turn over before it started and he breathed a sigh of relief. Once he knew that he was going to be alright, he backed down out of his driveway and turned the car around to head towards town; making a mental reminder to book an appointment at the local garage to get his baby looked at. He needed it for school, and he definitely would die without a mode of transportation. Hitching a ride with someone would get old, real fast. He tapped a rhythm against the steering wheel with his fingers as he hummed along to the radio, adding in a head bob now and then. He knew he had no hope as a musician of any sort, well, a singer anyways, he loved playing the drums, but hey, he was alone in his car, so he didn’t see any reason not to hum along.
They were catchy songs after all. That was what paid the money in the end for those artists and whatnot. He knew he’d also never survive in the cutthroat music industry. Even if he did have talent, he didn’t want any part of it. The lanky teen pulled into the parking lot and shut his car off, sending a pray up to the deities that his baby would be nice and start for him when he was done. Stiles hopped out of the car and strode up to the place, entering and looking around, nearly sighing happily at the familiar smell of dusty books. He strode towards the back, where the mythology was located, and started thumbing his way through the books. The teen didn’t care much that a lot of the books were for the younger kids, surprisingly, mythology keyed towards the younger kids held quite a bit of truth if one knew where to look.
He started gathering a pile in his arms of the books he wanted to skim through, do some more research on a couple new supernaturals he’d heard of over the past few weeks, and he went to find a nice place to settle down and do some of that research. Stiles had just rounded another bookcase to head towards the sitting area when he came face to face with, and collided with, another person. A grunt of surprise left him as he promptly fell back onto his rear, books flying everywhere. ”Aw man, shit, I mean, crap, I probably shouldn’t swear in a store geared towards kids, so sorry, I really honestly didn’t see you, or smell you, but then that’d be awkward and uh…I’m gonna shut up now.” He blabbered, gathering up the books he’d dropped before getting to his feet, shifting his weight awkwardly from side to side.
