Had it just been him or did history seem to be taking longer than usual? Even though there was only five minutes left of the class, it just seemed to drag on and on like a dying animal. Brown eyes were resting on the clock, watching the red second hand move each second and make one full loop before the black minute hand moved over. Normally, Danny Mahealani didn't care one way or another how long class took. He faired pretty well in all of his classes despite the time taken out of it for lacrosse and it's away games. Although, the sport almost didn't seem as fun as it used to be, but part of that was just because of Jackson. Yes, Jackson his best friend, or maybe it was former best friend, Danny couldn't even tell any more.
Something had happened but it was one of those issues where he honestly had no idea what had really happened. Although, Danny wouldn't even argue that the source was the start of all the strange happenings at Beacon Hills with those mountain lion attacks and Scott McCall actually becoming good at lacrosse. It was as if something from those events just caused Jackson to snap and thus began the unraveling. They hadn't been the same or at least in the teenager's mind, they hadn't been the same. But Danny almost felt tired about putting in the effort to attempt to put the friendship back into what it had been, it's not like Jackson told him anything any more.
The bell rang now, shrill and high pitched, snapping him out of his thoughts as his fellow classmates began to put their books away with loud thumps and the shuffling of papers. Even now, the teacher was still trying to talk over them, getting in some last minute details on the American Revolution and the reminders of the class assignment due Friday. Something told Danny that almost all of the class had needed that reminder as well. Following suit with putting his things away, he quickly grabbed his back now to sling it over his shoulder and head off to his final 'class' of the day: study hall. While not always necessarily the case for Danny himself, study hall tended to be a joke for most of his fellow peers. Honestly, he couldn't blame them, it's not like the librarians respected them that much either.
Still, the library almost seemed welcoming now with it being his final destination before heading out to the field to practice. He stood there for a moment before weaving though tables and people now, making his way over to his usual spot. It was almost bad some times at how he could be such a creature of habit, Danny had read somewhere that it makes you an easier kill for spies or something ridiculous like that. Thankfully, the closet thing that he had ever felt like coming to death was getting a concussion from Scott McCall and that weird incident at the Jungle with paralysis. In fact, to this day, it still remains a bit of a mystery but in the long run, Danny hadn't cared because his ex had ended up in the hospital as well. Clearly, karma was a bitch.
As a harsh shush left the lips of the librarian now, some of the idle chatter began to die down but Danny knew that people would still talk. Opening up his back pack now, the teenager slid his laptop out and booted it up, his brown eyes left the screen now and glanced around. It was a bad habit of his, people watching, but it was hard not to do. There was so much that people could take in from just natural observation, and it was funny how their secrets could easily slip. Although, people could just as easily observe him, after all, he was sitting alone yet again. The thought made a small sigh escape Danny as his fingers glided over the keyboard, logging himself on and proceeded to tune out the rest of the world.
