There was a time
I met a girl of a different kind.
We ruled the world,
I thought I'd never lose her out of sight.

Chris was trying to talk himself through this. He knew what he had to do. It was a little easier in his mind to come up with the words than to actually say them. It always was. It was why he needed to be level headed about this. Someone always had to be the one who thought with a level head. He could do this.
He let Allison take a seat. He had to take a deep breath and try to figure out where to start. There was just so much he had to tell her. So much he wanted to tell her. But there was still some things he knew he couldn't tell her. There were just some things she didn't need to know. And figuring out what to tell her and what he shouldn't... well it was what caused the silence.
He didn't looked saved by her words. He just looked as impassive as ever. He just shook his head and gathered his thoughts. He would start first with her mother. She deserved to know the truth regarding what happened. "Your mother loved you dearly, Allison. She never wanted to hurt you. Women in the Argent family are expected to be leaders. They give the orders." Victoria could guide when he didn't know what to do. She gave him strength when he was weak.
"Your mother... She was as brilliant as they come. She told me that she also told you to stay away from Scott. We weren't kidding when we said that if you would stay away from Scott, we wouldn't have to kill him." It had been Victoria's idea to infiltrate the school and watch over the young werewolves. They were dangerous, more in Gerard's eyes than his own. They had yet to do anything, which was why he just wanted them to be watched.
"I don't know why your mother decided to kill Scott. Why she would go do it on her own. But if she decided it, there was a good reason for it. Argent women are not weak. You saw how Kate was. You can look back at how even you treated all those around you when Gerard was around. Hunters and werewolves together just do not mix. Especially not when your grandfather was around." Chris took a deep breath to steady himself.
"I doubted the bite would take, that your mother could have been saved. Gerard... He wanted her to kill herself before she turned." His bottom lip trembled, the only sign of weakness. "I knew everything, Allison. I'm sorry. But it was always better you knew your mother for who she was before she attempted to kill Scott." He honestly didn't fully blame Derek for his wife's death. Yes. Part of him would. There could have been other things to save Victoria than biting her. But he was also protecting his own. Chris himself would have done anything to protect his own, too.
"But you must understand one thing, Allison." Chris stared at his daughter. "I will not approve of your relationship with Scott. I will not approve of a relationship with a werewolf or any magical creature." He took a deep breath. "But, I will give you one word of advice. Never utter a word of dating a werewolf around your cousins. I am very leniant on you. If you had been born into the Crowe side of the family..." He shook his head. "Let's just say that all Hunter families take things differently. Many would torture the one dating a magical creature and kill their lover in front of them. You wouldn't want that to happen to Scott, now would you?"
He knew he was being mean. But he needed to get it through Allison's head that he was possibly one of the kindest Hunters she would ever meet. Even if it did get him mocked by how close he followed the code. But he couldn't speak for how her cousins would react. But he didn't want to see anything happen to Scott. Scott was a good kid.
