It's only half past the point of no return
The tip of the iceberg.
The tip of the iceberg.
Stiles rifled amongst the different video stacks, tapping the fingers of his free hand against his thigh restlessly, and if he’d been sitting his foot would have been bouncing, or rocking, or shaking or…well, one could get the general idea. He didn’t know what he was looking for, but he figured he could grab a few and take em home to either watch them with Scott, watch them with his dad, or watch them on his own. Either way, a win-win. New movies, bonding time with dad, bonding time with Scott, or just alone time worked too. He started humming as he browsed the racks, unable to remain still even if he was standing in one spot. Honestly, he couldn’t help it. He turned and in his hasty movements nearly knocked over a rather precariously placed stack of DVDs, earning a glare from the store clerk. All he could do was shrug and give her a ‘what can you do’ look, rather than adding a rather selective comment about someone not being able to stack safely.
That probably wouldn’t have gone over well. But he was getting better at exercising self-control. Really, he was! Okay, not really. Not even a little bit. But he had high hopes for the future! All that lecturing from his father, Scott, Lydia, even Allison about how many times he’d gotten his hind end kicked because of mouthing off had to do something towards teaching him a lesson…right? He shrugged again and kept looking, snagging the first few seasons of The Mentalist, more than happy at the chance of catching up on the backstories of the characters on the show, since he figured he had plenty of time at some point during the next weekend, or some day during the week, or multiple days spread out…
He laughed to himself and shrugged again; tapping a rhythm against his thigh as his other hand held the multiple DVD cases against his other thigh, scanning the shelves for anything else while he was there. Maybe he’d grab season one of Bones…or maybe he’d head next door to grab something to eat. Well, he had that thought right up until he found a whole section dedicated to the movies he liked (Who would’ve figured, since it was a store that specifically has movies). He grinned widely and started scanning the movies in earnest, grabbing The Avengers, and Iron Man 1 and 2, wishing that the third was out on DVD, but knowing he had a while to go yet, since it wasn’t even out of theaters at the moment.
After grabbing both Captain America and Thor, he gave up and just grabbed them all, knowing he looked like he was some sort of movie junkie as he did his best to keep hold of the now massive pile of cases in his arms, no longer having any free hands to fidget or shift, instead settling for tapping his foot whenever he was standing still long enough. He probably shouldn’t be looking for any movies to add to his stack, but who knows, maybe he’d be able to snag whoever came into the place next to help him out, at least until he got to the counter. He also had a feeling that the clerk would only intensify her death glare when it came time for him to be done. Oh well.
