Another day, another dollar. It all seemed to blend together until Lexi forgot all about time and place. At one point, the boring routine had helped her coop with the loss of Tristan but after Sebastian's birth, it had just become something that helped settled her OCD'ed mind.
Although she adored being a mother, the child had been a learning experience in her tidy, compartmentalized life that she hadn't quiet been ready for. Learning to give and take had been a battle at first but thankfully, she'd had help in the form of Karlie and Damon. Now, Sebastian was two and while it was terrible at times, at least he was better able to express his needs and she didn't feel quiet so guilty for dumping him on Karlie's doorstep when she needed a night out and away from everything.
Like tonight. An evening that her sister had insisted on. Away from the club and out of the house for something besides a hot bubble bath and a book. Lexi had had to promise on threat of something horrible that she'd at least make an attempt to have something of a carefree night even though the prospect seemed dull. She was beginning to suspect that her sister might resort to drastic measures if she didn't give in to her decree and the idea of being stuck on another blind date had filled her with terror.
Which had only succeeded in bringing home just how work and Sebastian oriented she was. She didn't even have any friends to call who might join her. Not that she was going to tell her sister that but... the truth of the matter stung and it was that which made Lexi eventually give in.
So .. here she was.
Dressed in an elegant black pant suit with a white chemise underneath, the blond made her way into her favorite restaurant. Although alone, the hostess greeted her by name and beckoned her forward. Following the woman to her favorite table, Lexi gave her a smile of thanks before taking the offered menu and ordering a glass of her favorite wine. Promising to send her waitress right back with the beverage, the hostess gave a slight bow and then hurried off, leaving the blond to her own thoughts.
Something that was fine with Lexi as she frowned over the menu and set it aside. Since she really wasn't hungry, she decided on the usual and then set to watching the people absently.
