It was strange, the sense of calm that came with the third trimester coming to it's end. Being pregnant was stressful enough, not to mention being sixteen years old, trying to juggle doctors appointments, classes and moving into the apartment her father had bought for her and her sweetie. Thankfully, her daddy was very good at sweet talking people and the school was no exception. He'd managed to convince them that her Thursday and Friday classes could be done from home and she only had to attend for the more important classes and some how managed to get put into more of Riley's classes so she had more free time and someone to 'take care of her'. As it happened, with the morning sickness wearing off and the fact it was a Friday, some how Evie had managed to sleep until nearly noon. It was probably the first time in years, not just since the start of her pregnancy. But she needed it. That rest had given her something she hadn't had in a while.
Riley and Evie's new place was closer to the school so Riley had taken to walking to school, when she'd noticed his truck outside she knew this was her chance. Her chance to surprise him. She was craving pancakes and she hadn't been out with her Boo in such a long time so she showered and started to get herself ready. She was done and she still had a while until she had to get to the school for the end of the day. She walked through the apartment towards the kitchen. Just because she was having pancakes didn't mean that big bag of Cheetos wasn't calling her name. Her heels clicked against the wooden floors as she walked until they were interupted and proceeded with a thump. Everton's body hit the ground heavily and her hands both moved to the tiny bump she concealed under her dress.
As tears started to tumble down her face, Evie pulled her body back up, propping it against a door frame. She scrambled in her pocket, grabbing her cell phone and dialing Riley's number. The first time it rang until it went to voice mail, but that doesn't mean she didn't keep trying until it went through. She wasn't on the other end. As he answered, her body was curled over itself and the audiable sound of her tears tumbled down the other end. She was breathing deep and holding her stomach. "Riley?? Riley help!!!"
