But somehow right before your eyes
The sun light fades away
Everything is different
And everything has changed

Piers knew he probably should have left the house. He couldn't stand being cooped up. He could barely sit through a school day, how did Derek honestly expect him from going from locked up at school to locked up in the house. No. He refused to let anyone just lock him back up indoors.
Besides, it was actually nice out. He was so used to freezing winters back home, where he was stuck in jackets and long sleeved shirts. But California weather was actually a bit warmer than Oregon. But he doubted anyone in the Hale pack could even begin to appreciate the nice weather they had here, versus what his pack had to deal with up north.
The little beta jumped over a fallen tree, sniffing the air. He could smell a rabbit. He wondered if they could eat it. Would Derek even allow that? He knew the Hale pack was different than his, they didn't have to actively hunt for their meals. But would Derek at least give in to him wanting to get the pack to learn what the Barnes pack was like?
He would need more than one rabbit, that was for sure. But it was a start. So the ten-year-old took off after the scent. He was pretty nimble as he raced through the woods, making sure to slow as the scent grew stronger. He eventually slowed down and began to use stealth, watching every step. Eventually the rabbit came into view. It was a good sized thing, Pierson noted. It seemed to be a little wary, he figured it knew it wasn't alone. As he went to move, there was a snapping of a stick elsewhere. The rabbit took right off and the wolf groaned, there went dinner.
But then he became a little more rigid, thoughts rushing to remember he wasn't alone. He was quick to climb the tree he was next to, knowing the height would benefit him in the end. However, his heart pounded in his chest, his entire body on edge. The scent of someone else was slowly coming closer to his location, and the small boy kept hoping it was anything but a hunter.
