The witch had escaped him.
As Luka stalked through the crowded club pushing bodies out of his way as he went, the Russian fairly exuded the wrath that he felt since learning the prey he'd been hunting had eluded him yet again. And the cattle that had packed the club knew it.
They practically parted like the Red Sea as he stormed through, as if they could feel the tangible anger raging through him.
Those unfortunate souls that had not seem him coming, those that were dancing to the rhythmic music or paying too much attention to another body on the floor...well they actually felt the fury, for if they were in Luka's way he wasted no time using supernatural force to fling them clear across the room.
The tempest that was Luka Neverov arrived at the bar counter and snarled a request an order of a vodka double at the tender. This human was no fool, and though he'd been helping another he nodded ardently at the vampire and quickly fetched a glass tumbler filled with the best Russian liquor they had.
When the bartender slid it across the rich wood the blood drinker caught it firmly in his palm and lifted it up, emptying it in one swallow. He brought the glass back down on the counter with a loud thud and the bartender brought the bottle to the angry male in offering.
One, two, three more double shots and the vampire was somewhat stilled. Not to say he was calmed in any way by the liquor, oh not at all, but his blood seemed to have come down in temperature from the livid boil it was before.
Now he was hungry.
Someone had to be punished. Someone had to feel his pain.
The vampire meant to find a new target, if only for the night, and exact his special brand of reprisal on them. It was the only thing that would lull the beast inside of him. The only thing that would ease some of the anguish he was feeling.
White-blue eyes cut through the crowd in the dance club. Like a diamond blade his sharp gaze severed the swarm of humans until it fell upon a doe-eyed beauty in the crowd.
Ah yes...she would do.
