WEAKNESSES
Moira's main weakness (one which she is trying very hard to change) is that she will do anything, even if it means doing the wrong thing, to be accepted by the ones she cares about, or believes can help her. She occasionally lets herself ignore the facts on a subject when it comes to people she loves.
Can be very gullible at times.
She finds it hard to control her rage.
She cares too much about what people think of her.

STRENGTHS
No matter what the task, if she puts her mind to it, she can accomplish it (eventually). She doesn't break easily, and has a down to earth personality. She has no problem standing up to the people some find intimidating, and though she may be frightened, she does her best not to let it show in order to help everyone else. She enjoys solving other people's problems for them, and is very protective at times.
FEARS
Moira has a great fear of abandonment, which is why she'll do whatever it takes so that her friends don't do so. She is afraid that if others find out her secrets, she'll be known as a freak. Also, she is most vulnerable when she feels alone, so the thought of someone trying to encourage her to do the wrong thing when she has been doing so well scares her.
Due to some very vivid nightmares as a child, she has a small fear of the dark.
She is also afraid of snakes, wasps, and mildly afraid of heights.

SECRETS
Moira's secret ability is powers as a witch.
She decided to hide her powers from the world, scared of what would happen if anyone found out, and how people would prey on her longing for acceptance to turn her into their tool. She was also afraid of her best friend thinking of her as a freak.
She has never been kissed before.
She has a small crush on her best friend's boyfriend, Ryan.
When she was 15, she was caught up in a very intense game of truth or dare with the popular kids in school, and at the end of the game someone got hurt badly.
Before moving to Beacon Hills, Moira's best friend had been a girl named Ali. During the time in which Moira's telekinesis powers had started to emerge, Ali and
Moira had gotten in a very personal, heated argument, and her actions that day resulted in the death of her best friend. The guilt in Moira's heart is an ever growing burden, but she has never found it in herself to admit what really happened to anyone. To this day, she is the only one who knows the truth, and she plans on keeping it that way.

personality.
all about me
Moira very kind girl, who tries her best to see the good in others. She loves entertaining and impressing others. Having friends is a big part of Moira's life, as she feels lost without them. Unfortunately, she tends to make friends with the wrong kind of people, who badly influence her. She is most vulnerable when she is alone, and is easily influenced when so. Once she cares about someone, she will do everything in her power to make them happy, even over her own happiness sometimes. She dreams of being accepted by people who love her for who she truly is, and don't try to change her into who they believe she should be. She has a very down to earth personality. She can be terrifying when she is angry, but will use her anger to keep herself going.
history.
this is the story of my life
Moira was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She is the daughter of Sean and Ruth Collins, and is an only child. She was fairly popular in school, mainly due to her best friend being the most popular girl in school.
She led a fairly normal life until she turned 16. On her 16th birthday, she received small book in the mail. There was no clue as to who had sent it, nor sort of message at all. It was covered in strange symbols, appealing to Moira's love of mysteries and old books. The inside seemed to be in another language, but as Moira began to examine it, the words started to become readable to her. Amazed, she turned to the first page, and began studying it with great excitement. That night when she slept, her witch powers began to emerge, and it wasn't long after that before a great tragedy hit.
Unable to control her powers and no one there to teach her how, Moira took to an abandoned house a few miles from home to hone her skills, lying to her parents of her whereabouts. She was confused and terrified, but felt like she couldn't talk to anyone about it, not even her parents, so she took matters into her own hand. On her way home from school everyday, Moira would sneak off to the abandoned house, where she would spend an hour of every day attempting to take control of her powers. As she trained, she was able to lift objects of more mass, and hold them is the air for longer, along with send them across the room faster. She could also make little fires with her hands, and she was only at the beginning of the book. She began thinking of this house as her second home, her own little place, oblivious to the fact that she was not the only one who knew of the house, or dared to go in.
One dark winter afternoon in the abandoned house, while Moira was in the midst of levitating a mug across the room, a young man walked in on her, scaring them both. After a moment, Moira recognized him as Ali's boyfriend, Ryan. She had only met him a few times before with Ali, but had never found him charming as so many others had, though that would soon change.
After the initial shock of their unexpected meeting, Moira discovered that Ryan had been dared to go into the house as part of a game he was playing with his friends. He'd been expecting a slight thrill of exploring an abandoned house, only to find something far more intriguing. Moira begged Ryan to keep her secret to which he promised he would, but only on the condition that he would be able to come and watch her practice, to which Moira reluctantly agreed.
This began a new experience for Moira. At 4:15pm Monday through Friday, she would meet Ryan at the damaged bus stop by the school, and together they would make their way to the abandoned house, taking back routes in order to stay hidden. Once they arrived, Moira would sit quietly and focus on studying the book, giving all she had to her powers. Ryan would sit across the room from her, talking about upcoming school events, his family, himself, while she made pencils dance around the room, set little twigs on fire, then put it out with a snap of her fingers. She didn't often reply to his chatter, and though he teased her for her silence, she found his very presence helpful in concentrating. After a week was spent this way, Moira unexpectedly began talking about herself in great detail, surprising but pleasing Ryan. She started reducing her training time to 45 minutes, then would spend the last 15 chatting away with Ryan. They formed a strong bond, and Moira started thinking of him as a good friend, probably the only one she could truly be honest with. Ali was a wonderful girl, but not one to be trusted with secrets, and Moira realized she didn't even know if Ali would be able to handle the news of her powers well. Her fear of being abandoned by her friend led her to continue keeping her secret only with Ryan.
A month after discovering her new talent, rumors began to spread concerning Moira and Ryan. The word on the street was that the two of them were having an affair. Their new friendship struck people as odd, and began to raise suspicion. There was also the fact that the pair of them would mysteriously disappear around exactly the same time each day and soon enough these rumors reached the ears of Moira's parents. While they believed that she wasn't having an affair with Ryan, they grounded her for lying to them about her whereabouts, and though Moira didn't like it, she knew that she deserved it.
Only a few days later, a distraught Ali stormed into Moira's attic bedroom. It was obvious by her behavior that the rumors had finally gotten scandalous enough that Ali had snapped. She began accusing her of having an affair with Ryan but Moira stopped her, trying to clarify that they were nothing more than friends, but her sincere words only angered Ali further. Ali coldly explained (to Moira's complete shock) that earlier that day, Ryan had broken up with her, his reasons being that though he truly did have feelings for her, his heart belonged to someone else.
Ali started getting in Moira's face, insulting her, asking her how she could betray her like this. The argument grew more and more heated, and as it did it began to get very personal, until the Moira's own anger took control of her. She pushed Ali away from herself harshly, only intending to use this as an opportunity to end the conversation by leaving, but what took place that afternoon was much more than that.
With her frustration clouding her control on her powers, what was meant to be a push became a strong, telekinetic throw. Ali flew backwards, crashing through the window of the attic, while Moira watched in horror. Within seconds, an ambulance had been called and people gathered around, but it was too late, for Ali had died seconds after impact.
With no trace of foul pay or any other leads, Ali's death was declared a tragic accident, but still there was a buzz among the town, rumors that Moira had something to do with Ali's death. What was worse was that Ali's parents didn't blame her, didn't believe that she could have done anything so terrible.
Almost at her breaking point from losing her best friend, her social status, her "friends" and her reputation, Moira slowly started falling into depression. Her parents noticed this, and after some deliberation, gave her the option of going to her Aunt Audrey's house in Beacon Hills. Moira's parents only reason was that "Aunt Audrey can help you get through this", though it didn't sound like they were talking about the depression...but she agreed anyway, wanting a new start.
Too ashamed by her decision to run away from her problems, she didn't even say goodbye to Ryan, unable to face him after everything that happened.
