personality.
all about me
Grey is a fae and certainly acts like one!
Being from a whole 'nother realm than Earth, the male simply does not understand the customary behaviors and manners of humans and this plane and thus, he does not abide by them. Very much like a child, he is utterly mesmerized by humans and their customs and odd nick-knacks and is as curious as a baby feline with no care of how many lives he has.
Grey is the purest kind of spirit.
He loves whole-heartedly, believes in the impossible, and is wholly immune to what others might think of him.
He is easily confused and so very distractible, and he truly does not understand the consequences of his actions most of the time.
The fae says what he thinks (usually the first thing that comes to mind) and is utterly sincere. Honesty is something he really can't help as he cannot lie to save his life.
Grey is unwavering about things he believes in. He is passionate and intense. He is usually jovial; believing fully in the power of positivity and yes, when it his presence it is contagious!
Utterly fearless, Grey tends to jump into things head first and with out thinking, no matter what the cost.
Though sexuality is not something Grey is concerned with or even understands, the fae can't help his natural draw and charm. It can be overwhelmingly magnetic at times; especially when he is using it to get what he wants.
Like any other fae, Grey is roguish and playful, and will sometimes go too far with a prank or his mischief. He is not evil, mind you, but doesn't understand consequence, and so sometimes there are outcomes he does not expect.
The fae has run away from home and his family, yes, but that doesn't mean he is not fiercely loyal. He would die to protect those he loves and cares for, and would certainly kill for them.
An angry and bemused fae is a dangerous one so be wary! Grey hasn't got a handle on all of his magic just yet.
history.
this is the story of my life
Avalon is a place of magic and wonder. All your wildest dreams exist there, and yes, the stuff of legends.
Unicorns roam free and remain the purest, most magical creature. Fae and pixie quarrel and war and fly around on gossamer wings.
Dragons are just as terrifying there as they are when they hunt in the earth realm when they soar the skies on large, leathery wings.
Within that powerful, magical, non-human realm lives a clan of fairies, and part of that clan is the boy whom this story is about.
That boy would be Grey Thorne, who can often times live up to his surname...as a pain in your side.( Or your rear!)
The Thornes are an elder clan of the fae, who originated from Oberon himself down, down, way down the line.
(Or so the Thorne's say...no one can really trace back this so-called lineage as the clan themselves are old as dirt!)
They are a proud and wild bunch of fae who live in the thick of a bougainvillea tangle which climbs up the tallest oak tree in their land. Well as far as they can see, anyways...
The leader of the clan is a surly male named Ash Beetle Bug Thorne and his fair, wee wife was called Luna Moth Thorne.
Their 13th son was named Grey for the color of the day he was born and was supposed to be the heir to the whole oak community.
Funny thing that heir...air...Grey was certainly not what they expected!
The fae boy was natural born inquisitive; always flitting around here and there no matter the danger ever since he was knee high to a cricket. (literally) He was curious as a cat...and just like that old human adage, managed to get himself into some nearly deadly situations.
All Grey really cared about was fun. If it didn't involve gaiety, he didn't want to be a part of it. The meetings about pixies down in the glen waging war in order to invade their tree was such a bore! He would rather be chasing dragonflies across the sparkling waters.
When it came to learning to fight the good fight, he fooled around.
Oh was the boy frustrating to his winged parents!
Avalon , unlike earth, is mostly a peaceful domain. However, there are some species and subspecies that fight for things like land, dominancy, and sometimes just plain animal nature.
Such was the case with pixies and fae. They are very similar; the pixies and the fae, but their slight differences have over the years caused a great tear between the winged little men and women.
By the time Grey was into his teenager years and as much as a rascal as there ever was one, the Thorne clan and a particularly nasty group of pixies were in an all out battle over who could and could not claim the Hollow that they had all been calling home for ages.
Both families had fought so much their numbers were dwindling; on the verge of extinction.
Even Grey himself had joined the war, though he played around more than he fought.
It caught the attention of a female warrior from the other side.
Unbeknownst to Grey, a treaty was made under the light of a fat full moon.
The olive branch was extended by the leader of the pixie clan, and a deal was made that would end the conflict for all time...
If the youngest son of the Thorne clan would marry the eldest daughter of the pixie leader; a truce would be made.
Marry? That bug-eyed cobweb haired ragged winged thing?! Grey was frantic. And desperate.
Grey went to a powerful elder leprechaun for help, striking a deal with him in exchange for help escaping.
The leprechaun was a wily, devious imp who wanted the pixie princess for himself and so tricked the fae into going to the earth realm, which Grey had only heard about in fairytales.
Casting Grey into the human plane and transforming himself into the form of the young fae, Thorne has no clue where he is and no clue how to return to Avalon...
