Wow, where her friends drunk. There was no other way to phrase it as they stumbled over each other. In some ways, Kayla Summers envied them. How she wished that she could get wasted like the rest of them, but it seemed that the supernatural world just didn't allow that. And here all what girls wanted to do was just have fun. A sigh escaped her, sooner or later, she was going to have to escape them. There was a group of the, they could fend for themselves. Their laughter was loud and shrieky, their giggles set off by just about everything. While Kayla plastered a big smile on her face, anybody with a good brain could just see right through how fake it was. Her patience was wearing thin, but half of that might have been because of the lack of men at the clubs that night, or well, let's rephrase, the lack of men that were worthy of her time. How dull everything had been as of late, she hadn't even run into joggers up at the preserve. Maybe she should just accidentally fall off the edge of the overlook again...not.
One of the girls was taking about getting food all of the sudden, and Kayla cast a glance at them, grey eyes just staring at them wondering if they were serious. Considering that they were dressed for the bar, she couldn't quite imagine a restaurant willing to take them. Not to mention, they were loud. Kayla's lips twisted, ready to say that they should call it for a night when somebody suggested the diner and already, there was a chorus of agreement, "I'm not babysitting you guys," she pointed out now, clearly board of being sober buddy for them. Although, they hardly seemed to pay attention to her at that very moment. In that moment, the young woman couldn't help but to glower and then just rolled her eyes. Fine, see if I care if you make fools out of yourselves,' she thought to herself as she followed them along. Honestly, she was never really in this much of a sour mood, maybe it was just because her life had been so...utterly boring and normal, which was funny coming from a werebear of all things.
Beacon Hill was just abnormally quiet all of the sudden, and Kayla didn't quite know what to think of it. While it was boring to her, it also felt like the calm before the storm. After all, she'd only been there for two years and while she remained purely unnoticed by a lot of things, there was no doubt that the supernatural had certainly struck the little city, the high school especially. The things that she heard in whispers from the underground, not to mention, there was that bar that supposedly catered to hunters. It was almost as if there was a never ending supply of them now, hunters that is. Kayla could honestly say that she wasn't entirely a fan, but she had yet to really run into one. They were humans who knew how to kill things like them, and there were two different breeds. One that seemed tolerant of those who wouldn't cause any trouble, and then there were those who just killed anything that moved. Funny how hunters called them monsters, yet to the rest of them, the hunters were no different from them. God, and this was exactly why she wished she could get trashed, so she didn't get stupid philosophical thoughts like this. God, how she missed school.
But the young woman wasn't about to allow herself to get caught up in these things, it would only put her in an even more foul mood which she quite frankly, probably couldn't afford as they approached the silver building now. Her friends stumbling up the stairs and into the doorway, Kayla following in behind them and contemplating acting like she didn't know them. If anything, she was above them in their certain state of affairs. She still, was about to follow them to their booth when something, or well, someone caught her eye, sitting at the counter. Grey eyes stared for a moment, while it was hard to tell since it was the back of a guy's head, Kayla still found herself rather tempted to investigate. Ignoring her friends now, she walked over, poised and confident as always. As she ventured closer now and caught sight of his profile, the young woman knew that she had clearly made a wise decision. Already, her mood was beginning to lighten up now. Gone where her annoyances about how boring Beacon Hills was or the fact that she couldn't get trashed like her friends, all what she could think about was the rather handsome guy just sitting there, "Mind if I sit with you?" she asked now, a smile resting on her lips as she leaned her side against the counter now.
