Jae-Yeong would be lying if he said he wasn't nervous about going out into the woods. He was so used to them. He knew them like the back of his hands. They were his backyard and he knew he didn't really have to be that afraid. He knew his way home. He knew that he could roar and his family would come running. But he didn't need to. He wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary.

In shorts and a t-shirt, Jae had decided to go for a run. He had his ipod strapped to his arm and his headphones plugged in. They were playing on the quietest setting before it would be muted. He didn't like loud noises. This way, he was also allowed to hear the sounds going on around him. He wasn't dumb enough to run without knowing what was going on around him.

He was never a really big runner but he knew that even he had to stay active. He was a tiny boy and gained very little weight, but he had to get up and go. He loved the smells of the woods. Loved hearing the birds over the sounds of Matt Nathanson singing "Mercy".

The sound was just switching when he heard the crunching of leaves and knew he wasn't alone. Something was hunting him. That thought actually frightened him. He just ran faster. It wasn't even funny that his ipod began to play "Run Boy Run" by Woodkid. He was not up for dying today. Not ever. It actually hurt his chest to keep going so quickly, but he could smell human. He foolishly believed that if he could find this person, whatever was after him would leave him alone.

He felt the impact with the ground before he even registered that he had been taken down. The howl shook every bone in his body and he never thought anyone would actually scare him more than hunters. Werewolf. There was a werewolf about to rip out his throat.

The night was as if any other night he and his friend had split up this town had a rash of things going down in it and well they needed to split up. Warren wasn’t the most experienced hunter, but what he lacked in skills he had the muscles to back it up and the will to fight and survive at all costs. He’d fight for survival and that has gained him more then a few scars in the their past hunts, but he was learning more and more. They were hunting werewolves tonight. He could hear howling the distant by the path that he and Harlon had just spit up on. It made Warren scratch his head and wonder if he was hearing correctly was his ears deceiving him or had the howl really came from that direction. He stood their silently as the wind had blew past him listening for a few minutes before going off in direction he thought the noise was coming from perhaps his senses were getting a little better maybe?

He had headed down the way he came and spotted a kid running and thought okay maybe he was hearing things and the wolf wasn’t really this way… The kids jogging didn’t seem to be the werewolf who has killed several people in the woods. Warren had learned from Harlon if the eyes are blue they have killed if the eyes are yellow they haven’t killed any innocents and before long the boy was tackled to the ground by a wolf so perhaps his senses weren’t deceiving him after all. He pulled the bow and arrow off his back using the bow and arrow, and shot at the creature placing one dead into his leg, before shooting a few more at the beast to scare it and make it scamper off. It had glowing blue eyes so that was indeed the one Harlan and him had been after so maybe just maybe it was running in Harlan’s direction.

Warren tucked the bow back onto his back. Making sure the guns, he had were hidden and walked over to the young guy. Who was still on the ground after being attacked by such a beast. He hoped the guy would be okay. He could hear the beast howling in pain and he did his job maybe he hit it in a few more vital places that would cause it to die the arrows were dipped in wolvesbane and surely would hurt like hell. He walked close to the boy trying not to startle him anymore then he already is. He placed his hands up to prove that he wasn’t there to harm him and that he did not intend to kill him or anything. “Are you okay?” Warren asked looking him over to make sure, he wasn’t cut or bitten. What he didn’t know yet is only an alpha can bite and turn people. Warren reached out a hand to help the lad up.

“It’s seems to be not wise to come out here alone at such an hour.” He explained. It is why he was out here with his bow and arrow. Wanted to make it look as if it were just target practice or something. He didn’t want anyone knowing what he was doing… He waited to see if the guy would take his hand or try to scurry toe his feet his. “ I am Warren and I am not going to hurt you. I promise. Just happy I could be in the right place at the right time.” he said. He thought the kid was human so he wasn’t going to hurt a human. It wasn’t something he cared to do. He just thought it was stupid the kid was out here without any sort of protection. Did he not hear about the murders in the woods and stuff?

Jae-Yeong should have been more careful. He knew he should have been. He knew the woods were full of things that go bump in the night. Sure, he was something that went bump in the night. But it wasn't night. He didn't think anything would dare try anything while it was still daytime. He didn't actually think anything this wild would be out.

But he was actually scared to death. He had never really encountered rougue werewolves. He knew ones who were in control. He knew Betas and Alphas, none here, but they weren't anything he had to be afraid of. But this... This one was out of control and Jae knew it. And that made it a little intimidating. He heard footsteps and saw an arrow sink into the werewolf's leg.

The arrow is what kept Jae-Yeong from shifting right then and there. He feared where that arrow came from, as did the werewolf. He scrambled up and back a bit as the werewolf let him go and ran away with a whimper. He was alive. Oh god. He was alive. Jae-Yeong began to check himself over. But then he heard the voice of the person who fired the arrows.

The male froze and looked at the voice. It wasn't some older guy. He was young, which was surprising. But Jae knew better, knew hunters came of every age. He didn't know if he should trust this guy. But it was also hunting season in the woods. He knew that there would be normal animal hunters here. He shouldn't be so quick to judge.

Jae-Yeong looked at the hand for a minute before taking it and allowing himself to be tugged to his feet. He knew he was perfectly fine and capable of getting up on his own. It wasn't like he weighed much. He looked like he weighed a hundred pounds soaking wet. He wasn't exactly tall nor did he look old enough to be out of high school. But he was more than capable of defending himself, not that he was going to tell this guy why or how.

"I'm Jae-Yeong." There was an accent to the words, one you would find on someone who didn't speak English natively. "And I'm glad you were in the right place at the right time." Quite possibly not a whole lie. He had never actually fought a wolf before. But he knew that it had the upper hand by attacking him while he was in his human form. "W-what was that?" Jae ran a shakey hand through his hair, trying to get leaves out of it. He had to pretend to be human, for his sake.

He was curious as to why this guy was here, but wasn't about to question it. He knew he had to be careful around this guy. He had to pretend to be clueless.

The werewolf had ran off hopefully in his friends direction and they could take care of that little problem, but he had to help the guy that was attacked and make sure he didn’t need a doctor or something it had to have frightened him. He knew if he knew nothing about the worlds before him and that things such as that existed he’d have been terrified himself like he had been when he and his friends went camping. It seemed a lift time ago, but here he thought he guy was an ordinary kid he didn’t know the guy has secrets. The guy seemed to freeze a little when he spoke and that was normal after an attack Warren thought. Warren had offered him his hand and wondered what was running threw the guys mind, but he himself was not a mind reader sadly… It took him a moment before he had taken the offered hand. Warren pulled him to his feet to get him off the ground and looking him over he looked like he wasn’t harmed which was good, but he’d still offer to take him to the hospital just in case.

Warren didn’t know he was capable of defending himself. He was just glad he was there at the right time to save him from being dinner to some rabid werewolf. Someone seemed to like biting people and letting them run free to do as they please. It was something that got his bud in a bit of a tiff and more up tight then ever. The lad seemed to have an accent as he had spoken up introducing himself the guy looked as if he were a high school student and one would think the school would warm people to not be alone in the woods especially not at this hour. “Pleasure to meet you, Jae.” Warren spoke shifting on his feet slightly and listening for any other signs of trouble. “ Glad that I could be here at the right time too would have sucked if no one came along to help” He said with a shake of the head thinking the boy would be dead meat and the wolf would have ate him up. The boy seemed to trip over his words for a moment, which was cute and was a bit shaky. Warren had to lie and could not say werewolf… “I don’t know someone strung out on a very bad batch of drugs maybe? On the other hand, they could have had rabies. I don’t really know for sure.” he said kicking a leaf that had fallen on his boot.

“Are you sure you are okay? We probably should take you to get looked at or something especially in case the person had rabies.” He wondered if the boy would agree to going or decline and say it wasn’t necessary at all. “You know I figured your school would tell you not to come out here alone. I heard there have been several animal attacks in the area. I wanted to explore so figure I best bring some protection just in case.” It was true in some ways, but lies in another sense. He did want to explore and become accustom with the land. He thought knowing the land around you would help him track better and to know about little dips and traps that could lay in wait out here. He was sure other hunters had set traps maybe.

Jae-Yeong was expecting an ordinary day. He was expecting to just go for a run and then return home. He had been through these woods so often that there wasn't much that surprised him. He knew how to take care of himself. He had had a few play fights with his siblings. He wasn't much of a killer and that possibly could be his downfall one day. But he was still shocked by a werewolf running amok.

He thought that the local pack was calm. There had been that one running about a while ago, but then that killing spree stopped. There weren't dead bodies for a while, until something else decided to pop up and create chaos. Jae wasn't even sure what was going on in this town anymore. It was a hub for the supernatural, that he knew. But this was just completely crazy. He didn't understand why they all just couldn't get along.

He was more startled by who saved him. His instincts were screaming that this guy was a hunter and was going to kill him. It scared him to death. He didn't want to die. He wasn't doing anything wrong! He was just running. But it didn't seem like this guy knew what he was. Oh how Jae was rather grateful for that. He didn't think his heart could deal with all the shock.

The werebear didn't even know how to respond to the words. He might have been able to hold his own. Gotten a good enough shot in in order to escape. But he wouldn't know. Warren had come in and scared the werewolf away.
"I would probably be just another name on the list of dead." He swallowed hard, knowing he needed to be careful with his words. He couldn't dare let Warren in on his little secret.

The thought of rabies struck him as odd. He wondered if werewolves would get it. He knew humans could. But had never heard of supernatural creatures getting it. Though it wasn't like he has a fountain of information to turn to for questions like that. But he was sure that it had to have been something traumatizing to make a werewolf go insane like that. He searched himself for scratches. He didn't want to get rabies.

He glanced up at the mention of school. He shifted uncomfortably.
"I already graduated school." Although he was taking random classes at the community college and they had alerted him about the killings. But they merely said to be more careful. None of the deaths involved community college kids. Jae had noticed that it was more the high school.
"I work IT. Computer programming, web design... The works." And he hated it. But it was an income that was helping to pay for school supplies for his siblings.

Jae-Yeong eyed the weapon.
"Why do you have a bow anyway?" He never met anyone who owned one. Most had guns.
"I thought hunters used guns... Deer are taken down easier by guns than bows, or so statistics say. Unless you're greater than 30 feet distance, in which a bow is better. It's soundless and travels farther." He had spent way too much time studying. But her was pretty sure he would still hear the sound of an arrow getting set up and being fired. But he wasn't too sure he would be able to move quickly enough out of the way to avoid getting hit.

At least Warren had done one good deed that day and had saved the young fell from a rabid werewolf. It was weird that some were just out here killing people, but what could they do really? Had to catch them and kill them. Can they be saved even after they had gone rabid? Warren didn’t know. Warren’s buddy was more of a hunter then he was. He was learning the ropes a little bit, but could hold his own in a fight if he had to.

The more time he spent in this town the crazier it got. He had only thought they were passing threw, but with the crazy stuff going on their stay was longer then Warren or his buddy intended. “ I would have hated it if you were added to the list of bodies.” it was the truth. Warren had thought he was a young high school student and it is always so sad when someone so young dies way before their time. It wasn’t right especially when you have old people terminally ill hoping for the end that slowly takes its time coming to claim them and end their suffering. Life wasn’t fair in so many ways.

Warren was worried about him getting rabies, but you see Warren isn’t even sure if weres could get rabies since, but assumed it possible since both humans and animals can contract it. He watched as the boy looked himself over for scratches to see if he is okay or if he’d indeed be okay. “Perhaps we should take you to get checked out just in case?” he asked. The mention of school seemed to make the guy shift uncomfortably and Warren was told he already graduated school.. “Oh.” he stated and felt dumb now.

It’s just the guy seemed so young so he just assumed that he was in high school and was some stupid kid not listening to his teachers and the dangers that lurk out here at this hour. “I am sorry you just look so young. I thought you were still in high school.” Warren rambled off. Jae-Yeong explained that he was an IT person and was into the works. “That has to be fun. I hear you make good money doing that sort of thing.” Warren said with a shrug and casually looking over his shoulders from time to time just to make sure nothing else was coming. “Do you enjoy that line of work?” He was curious if he had.

Jae-Yeong asked him about the bow and why a bow that most hunters use guns. Warren has guns, but he was better with a bow had a better aim with it. Guns sometimes tended to be loud if they didn’t have a silencer on it. It isn’t always his intention to kill just injure. He listened to the guy some more and one thing was for sure he was smart. Warren gave him credit there. “ I am a better shot with a bow.” He said with a shrug. “ Besides sometimes they come in handy like tonight it had instead of killing whatever that was merely injured it and didn’t hit anything major so should be okay.. Maybe… Guns are too loud in my opinion too.” He said being honest with the guy, but not really saying he is indeed a hunter per say yet.

“Besides I like a challenge.” it was true he did like challenges. “I am kind of new at hunting deer. If statistics say it is easier with guns maybe I should learn to become a better shot with one unless I will be further then 30 feet. I haven’t really seen many deer around here.” Warren said with a scratch of his head, but he knew why. With all the Predators around they were probably picked off and eaten. “ We should get out of here in case that thing decides to come back for another attack or something.” He said looking down the trail.

Jae wasn't really sure how to react around this person. He was a human. He was probably dangerous. Oh how the male wasn't even sure. He was still a little too startled to figure things out. But there was just a pain in his chest as his heart seemed to want to come out of his chest. This type of things he was usually told to avoid. He was always warned that he had to be careful.

"I would have hated it, too." He joked, although he was serious. He honestly would have been ticked had it been a werewolf that offed him. He would have feared a hunter more, but werewolves were up there. He honestly wanted to die by old age. He could accept illness or sudden freak accident or something. But not by the hands of another magical creature or a hunter.

Jae-Yeong really didn't want to go to the hospital. He wasn't injured, they would just send him home. He had some claw marks on his clothes, but no scratches. He would have healed anyway. "I'm fine. Just my heart acting up." He shrugged. It had never really bothered him more than a twinge before. But this was a little alarming, but he didn't want it to show. This guy made him a little nervous.

Jae forced a bright smile on his face. "I get it all the time, mistaken for high school student." He shrugged, brushing it off. It was only the truth. He looked young enough. He could probably walk into the high school and sat in the classes and no one would have batted an eye. "You make lot of money. Learn a lot, get into trouble. I like to hack, just little. If government document may have ended up on my computer, no one has to know. Not that anyone but us does." He found hacking to be more interesting. The harder it was to get into the more fun he found it to be. "But it is boring." He honestly didn't find it interesting, just well rewarding when it came to pay.

The younger male was quite interested that the other was good with a bow. His suspicions on the other were growing. His mind screamed hunter. It flashed red lights and warning signs. He had to be careful. But he saved him. The man before him thought him human. He could do this. He could pass for human and not raise suspicion. He could do this.

He nodded at the idea of getting out of there. "Out of woods, but no hospital. Okay?" He really didn't want to go to the hospital, regardless of how much his chest hurt. It'd go away.

The lad seemed to have hated the idea as well to be on the list of bodies, which was good now maybe he’d be more careful and partake in the buddy system while running the trails. Warren was worried about getting the lad to the hospital. How could he not be worried after something like that happened? He wanted to take him to the hospital, but the guy said he was fine and it was just his heart acting up. “ Yeah something like that would do that to you. Take long deep breathes and maybe your heart rate will even out.” Warren stated trying to get the young man to do so. Hell, if he was the guy’s age and was attacked like that he’d be flipping out too. It was only three years ago He found out life and the world wasn’t always what it seemed to be. There were things that lurked beyond the surface.

He smiled and said he gets mistaken for a high schooler all the time. He seemed to be used to it. He looked so young. “Oh I am sorry I had just assumed you look so young.” He remarked. The dude before him probably could sit in some high school classes and they’d only notice when they took attendance or something that he doesn’t belong in that class nor does he attend that school. It is funny how things can work at times. He’d think someone that wasn’t in high school or a silly kid would know better then to brave the woods alone after all the mysterious attacks. He was told what the guy does, how he makes some good money, how you can get into trouble, and how he liked to hack the government and there maybe files on his computer. “So you are trusting me with that secret. Who says I’m not going to turn you in?” He was totally kidding and his voice. “I am sure it has to be fun and you have found out some neat stuff." Warren thought it would be cool to dig stuff up.

He had told Warren that it was boring and he frowned at that. “ Really?” He couldn’t believe the guy thought that his job was boring, but doing the same thing daily could get tiring. “Maybe you should take a leap of faith and try something new?” He suggested. It couldn’t hurt to broaden ones horizons every now and again. Warren wasn’t all-suspicious that the guy before him wasn’t human not as the other was thinking he was a hunter. It was true he was one, but still in the work in progress stage. He didn’t hurt something only those who kill. He had told the fella they should get out of here and he agreed, but said no hospital. “Are you sure?” Warren asked, and waited for the guy to start moving before following. Keeping an eye out for anything else that could pop out of the darkness. “ Did you have a car around here or do you need a ride back to where you live?” Warren asked. He’d be more then happy to drive him if he didn’t have a car.

Jae Yeong was careful. There was something about the guy before him that made him feel the need to be. There was something about him that screamed predator. Something that told him this guy was actually stronger than he looked. Sure, the guy smelt human enough. But he was good with at least one form of weapon.

He listened to the words and carefully tried to control his breathing. It was pounding his chest. He was surprised the other couldn't hear it. But he was human. So Jae did his best to shake off his nerves and calm down. He needed to think clearly if he wanted to get out of this alive. Although he knew he could play the shocked boy easily.

"It's a common thing I hear. Don't be sorry." He smiled brightly. He wasn't offended in the least. It got on his nerves at time, but he got over it quickly. It was such a common thing that he just let it roll off his shoulders. He wouldn't let it get him down, otherwise he would just spend his entire life ticked off.

He knew the other was lying, so simply cracked a grin. "Oh, there's some interesting information. But there's also some really boring information. I knew government would be boring, but I hadn't expected them to be catastrophically boring." Jae sighed and shook his head. "It's depressing, honestly. I'm glad I don't deal with any of that." That didn't seem fun at all.

The Asian male smiled brightly. "I'm attending the community college, taking classes to see if there's anything I like more. I haven't found anything yet, but I'm hoping to find something. I'm thinking either historian, history teacher, or manhwa artist... Ah. comic book." Most didn't get the word manhwa and then there were still those who didn't understand the English term of the word manga, so he just used comic book.

Jae could feel the clench in his chest, knowing that he would probably collapse when he got home. He was the weak link and he knew it. He was just glad they weren't in the wilderness as real bears. He would have died ages ago, probably. "I walked. My house backs up to the woods." He hoped he hadn't strayed too far from his house.

It was a common mistake that was made Warren was told about the guy’s age and how he wasn’t the only one who assumed the guy was in high school. “Makes me feel a little better it wasn’t just me thinking it,” he said with a grin. It really did make him feel better and it maybe good for the man looking so young when he is older. Warren was glad the dude didn’t seem to mad which was a plus.

He seemed to know that Warren wasn’t going to turn him in and it was a lie and continued to tell him about what he did, and how the government was very very boring and that made his eyebrow raise. “Even top secret encrypted area 51 type stuff?” Warren was one that believed that stuff existed and was out there. He could get what the dude said about some stuff being interesting so wondered if it were that kind of stuff that was interesting. Warren always would have loved to learn how to hack and stuff like that, but never had the skills or time to learn.

He had offered advice saying the guy may find something more suited to his liking if he wasn’t happy in the field he is and what he did for work. Warren grinned when he told him he was in community college taking courses hoping that he would find something better, but nothing yet. “I am sure you’ll find something. Everyone does.” Pats him on the shoulder in a friendly you can do it manor.

He listened on as he said on what he was thinking. “ I think those both sound pretty cool and maybe you’ll enjoy one of them or maybe even both.” it was nice talking with the guy about stuff like this. He has just been traveling around with his friend so besides running into Jackson, he hasn’t had much conversation with anyone and it was nice. Good thing he had said comic books to other wise Warren wouldn’t have known what he was talking about and hopes Jae finds a liking to one of the things he stated.

Warren wanted to know if he drove, and would make sure he goes home safely. Jae told him he had walked “Oh” Warren mouthed still looking around the woods. “ If they are indeed pretty close I’ll walk you the rest of the way to make sure you get there safely.”  It was the least he could do now since the hospital was out of the picture. It made Warren wonder how far away he really is and if he had ever seen strange things like the wolf he did today.
