I, I can't get these memories out of my mind,
And some kind of madness has started to evolve.
And some kind of madness has started to evolve.
Jackson slung his bag over his shoulder, the strap distributing the considerable weight evenly, making it that much easier to carry as he stalked down the halls. He had a free period at the moment, one of the perks of being a higher up in high school, and he figured he might as well get some laps in down at the pool. He didn’t bother hurrying up, since he was on good terms, or rather, not good terms but it made little difference, with his English teacher, so he figured skipping wouldn’t be all that bad. He was doing fantastic in the class as far as grades went, and he’d gotten his work done already, good little school boy he was, so there was no need for him to be there on time. Besides, Coach would give him a pass, or really anything, so long as he was doing what he’d wanted him to do. Practice.
The werewolf entered the boy’s locker room and dropped his things off at his locker, undoing the combination lock to stuff his things in shortly before stripping down and pulling on a pair of board shorts. He pushed everything back in and locked it back up, knowing that if anything other than a human wanted in on his locker, it was going to get in, regardless, but hey, whatever. Odds were if it was a supernatural, he wouldn’t have to worry about something so petty as his stuff. Whereas with a human, well, they liked taking anything they wanted, now didn’t they? Must be their inner wolf, since he knew many werewolves who got a kick out of using their powers to their advantage.
He wouldn’t lie, he did too, but not like they did. He used his abilities on the field, and at warning of severe consequences from Derek should he slip up, he was very, very careful. But if anything, having so many werewolves on the team had certainly been good. Coach had never smiled that much in the previous years, and they were on their way to sure victory. Jackson opened the door to the pool area and stepped in, goosebumps prickling over his skin at the sudden sheer cold that he knew came before the unbelievable warmth in the actual pool area. He looked around, frowning faintly at the scent of wolf.
His teeth elongated slightly but he kept his mouth shut, frowning instead. He didn’t think anyone on the team was supposed to be at the pool at that time, so it had to be someone else. But he also didn’t think there’d been that many wolves at their school. Jackson knew he was easily mistaken, because the scent of his packmates filled the halls to the point where he just didn’t know about anyone else. Shrugging, he padded into the warmth of the pool, and dropped his towel on the bench before diving into the deep end, coming up and running a hand through his hair, blowing water away from his mouth and nose.
After a few moments of treading water, he started doing laps, counting each one until he got to fifty, and then he came up to cool down, reaching the shallow end and standing, his gaze suddenly sharpening as the scent of wolf hit him a bit more, and his frown deepened. Instead of returning to his laps, he got out of the pool and grabbed his towel, wiping his face off as he looked around. ”Who’s there?” He asked, hiding the growl in his voice, knowing he was even more on edge than normal.

But some kind of madness is swallowing me whole, yeah
But some kind of madness is swallowing me whole, yeah
I have finally seen the light,
And I have finally realized
What you mean.
