A blackness lives inside this place
An evil you'll learn to embrace
It will lure and calm your doubt
Eat you alive and spit you out

Emeric loved the woods. He felt like he constantly just lived here. He was here all the time. He liked today. There was a little bit of dew left on the plants that filled the woods. However, there wasn't a dark cloud in the sky. That meant the rain was gone and would not be coming back any time soon.
He hadn't slept well the night before. He tossed and turned. It was probably why he was in such a funky mood. His court had been a little nervous with him the last couple days, almost worried for him. He had been acting quite unusual, not that they were all exactly used to him yet. But he wasn't acting like how he had when he first moved in with them.
The teen strolled through the woods. He was letting his true nature shine through, his true appearance. He was tired of fighting it, tired of looking human. He had yet to meet a plain human in the woods. Besides, he could keep his winds nearly invisible. Sure, if the sun hit them right there was no way to hide them when he wasn't hiding who he was.
His shoes were in his hand as he walked, socks tucked into his sneakers as he walked barefoot through the grass. He didn't even know why he began to sing as he walked, but he did. He was rather fond of singing, regardless of what he told people. He didn't have a bad voice, it just had an eerie tone to it whenever he sung, like he was always up to something.
"Come little children,
I'll take thee away,
Into a land of enchantment,
Come little children,
The times come to play,
Here in my garden of shadows.
Follow sweet children,
I'll show thee the way,
Through all the pain and the sorrows,
Weep not poor children,
For life is this way,
Murdering beauty and passions.
Hush now dear children,
It must be this way,
To weary of life and deceptions,
Rest now my children,
For soon we'll away,
Into the calm and the quiet."
He found a spot that was just right. Sun hit it perfectly, a small clearing surrounded by tree. He stood in the center, soaking in the sunlight. He dropped his shoes as he continued to sing the song as he closed his eyes for a minute, stretching out his wings.
"Come little children,
I'll take thee away,
Into a land of enchantment,
Come little children,
The times come to play,
Here in my garden of shadows. "
He barely finished when he became aware that he wasn't alone. He slowly opened his eyes as he turned to face the person who interupted his alone time. His movement was slow, as he listened to the world around him. He wasn't even sure why he gave the intruder a smile, but he did.

NOTES: For Derek. I don't own the song. It's the entire song to "Come Little Children" from the movie Hocus Pocus.
