Stiles wasn’t sure what he was doing that elicited so much interest from this new kid, but then he didn’t really mind per say, so much as he wondered, and was curious himself. "I'm sure you have some fortune shining down on you, though. Don't sell yourself short." He said, and the lanky teen chuckled, running a hand over his buzz cut, grinning crookedly. ”I certainly hope so, but only time will tell, and I’m not selling myself short, just thinking realistically, really.” He said easily, shrugging. He wasn’t bothered about his lack of much importance, more like resigned to it, and in a sense he felt more at ease that way, because at least he knew he had a role, however small it really was.

"Touché." He commented with a chuckle, and his bright smile sent a faint shiver down the lanky human’s spine. It seemed almost sadistic in a way, and he was so not touching that with anything less than a ten foot pole. "But if I wanted to harm you, I would have already done such. I don't mind an audience when I'm up to no good." He said and Stiles barely hid his shiver this time. "I mean... I'm quite sure you're not as ignorant as many in this town. I mean... I have seen you hanging around school with Scott McCall. And I've seen him with Isaac Lahey, who is around Vernon Boyd and Erica Reyes. Does this mean you know Derek Hale? I mean... You have to, considering he knows you." Emeric asked excitedly, and Stiles chuckled, raising his shoulder in a shrug.

”Why the interest in Derek Hale, I mean, I know the Sourwolf, but how do you know him? He isn’t exactly hanging around with younger people for the most part. And I guess you’ve met him? Since you know he knows me? If he makes any sense or whatever.” He said with another shrug and a sheepish chuckle. "I love names. There's such great power in them. You can learn everything you want just by knowing someone's given name and family name." He smiled brightly once more, "Everything." And there he went with the whole creepy intensity thing. Jeez didn’t he ever not act creepy? ”Really? Well I guess that makes sense, the internet and all its wonders and all that.” He said with a slight chuckle.

Emeric wanted to laugh at the words, but instead he just remained smiling. The other really was a little clueless. But it was alright. It was better for people to be realistic than to not be. But he would really hate for something bad to happen to Stiles. Well, not before he could figure out what made the other teen tick. The British teen reached around his neck and pulled a necklace off. He held it out to Stiles. "Here. For protection. I'm afraid your luck won't get much better, but it will decrease the chances of your throat getting ripped out." He shrugged, not really caring if the other took it or not.

He wasn't up for tricking people at the moment. No. He wasn't always tricking people. He could be genuine when he wants to be. But he usually wanted something when he was. He wasn't giving Stiles the amulet without a price, the price was that in protection it would give Emeric more time to figure out why Stiles was so different from everyone else in this boring little town. It would benefit him in the long run.

Em grinned at the questions. "It's not that I have an interest in Derek. I have an interest in this town. More curiously is a human running with wolves. Now wouldn't you think that's a more interesting question?" He rolled his shoulders. "The internet? Really?" Emeric reached out to grab Stiles' arm to stop him. His eyes glowed green faintly. "Can't you think outside the box? Did you ever stop to think that there's more than wolves out there?"

Stiles got the feeling that Emeric wanted to laugh, but instead kept smiling, and he was somewhat glad that he hadn’t laughed. Like, honestly, he knew he probably wasn’t the brightest bulb in the box maybe not socially, but he was extremely smart in his own right, there was no sense in rubbing it in after all. He watched curiously as the teen reached around his neck and pulled a necklace off before holding it out to Stiles. "Here. For protection. I'm afraid your luck won't get much better, but it will decrease the chances of your throat getting ripped out." He shrugged and Stiles’ brows furrowed, trying to see if this was some sort of game.

The guy was awful forward after all. ”Er, thanks, I think? I guess anything to keep from getting my throat ripped out a little while longer is good.” He said with an awkward chuckle, shrugging a shoulder and carefully slipping the amulet over his head, tucking it under his t-shirt, only the cord holding it showing around his neck. It felt…well, not odd, but it fit there, odd as that might sound. He wondered if that was some sort of magic mojo, but didn’t dare ask.

"It's not that I have an interest in Derek. I have an interest in this town. More curiously is a human running with wolves. Now wouldn't you think that's a more interesting question?" The other teen said with a grin, and rolled his shoulders. "The internet? Really?" He reached out to grab Stiles’ arm, his eyes glowing green faintly. "Can't you think outside the box? Did you ever stop to think that there's more than wolves out there?" He asked, and okay, now he was officially freaked out. ”Um, the internet’s all I’ve got, and…as for thinking outside the box, what do you think I’ve been trying to do for the past year or so!? God almighty, more than just wolves out there? I swear the universe is trying to give me death by panic attacks.” He exclaimed, scrubbing a hand over his scalp agitatedly.

Emeric was actually quite content when Stiles took the amulet and placed it on. His smile turned gentle for a brief moment. He honestly would hope that it would bring better luck for the human. At least protection would be guaranteed for a bit of time. He didn't like to see death. And he was rather fond of humans, not that he would like to openly admit that around people. That would lead to questions. And he abhorred questions.

"We can't have that, now can we. I think we both prefer you in one piece, without any cuts or gashes." Although he honestly wouldn't care if Stiles had a cut. He didn't care that much. The other could go run into a door for Em cared, though he would want to be there just to laugh at the other's stupidity.

Emeric grinned. "Maybe... you should have stopped to ask." He leaned forward, towards Stiles just a little. "Hunters, many creatures... They keep records." He leaned back, his eyes fading back to their normal color in an instant. "Or, you could just ask." He shrugged, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Not everything in this world is out to kill you. I'm not into the whole 'world domination', 'take out the other things that go bump in the night', thing. I'm more of a 'Let's just bake sweets and make peace' type of person." And, quite honestly, he was more into baking sweets than fighting.

Stiles was completely in the dark about how to deal with this guy. Or not necessarily deal but get away with all of his internal organs and with no further damage to his addled brain. As of the current moment, he had no idea what was going on, and yet at the same time he had an idea. It was like one revolving puzzle that hurt his brain to even think about. "We can't have that, now can we? I think we both prefer you in one piece, without any cuts or gashes." Emeric said, and he shrugged, not entirely sure he wanted to know why this kid had an interest in keeping him from any life threatening wounds. But either way he was grateful for having something that, hopefully, would do as he said it would and make sure that in his gallivants in the dark trying to take down evil creatures wouldn’t land him in the ER…permanently or anything like that.

"Maybe... you should have stopped to ask." Emeric said with a grin, leaning towards him just a bit, making Stiles swallow. "Hunters, many creatures... They keep records." He added before leaning back, his eyes going back to their normal color instantaneously, so quickly he thought he might have imagined it. "Or, you could just ask." The other teen shrugged, and Stiles watched him rather wide eyed. ”I was always under the impression that a hunter would most likely kill before letting anyone near their records, let alone asking about them?” He ventured. "Not everything in this world is out to kill you. I'm not into the whole 'world domination', 'take out the other things that go bump in the night', thing. I'm more of a 'Let's just bake sweets and make peace' type of person." He said, and Stiles chuckled. ”I haven’t had any proof besides you that says otherwise, and besides, I’m not a violent person either, so I’d rather stick to the sweets.” He added, shrugging.
