A quiet scoff escaped her as Jo reached for some bar napkins. Wiping away the blood around the cut on her arm, then applying some pressure to the wound to get it to stop bleeding. She kept her eyes on his face. Watching as his thought process worked, seeing the changes in his expression. It took a few moments but it seemed his brain had come to the conclusion that she was telling the truth.
That wasn't the end of it though. Of course not. There were more questions to be answered. Jo ran a hand through her blonde hair. The strands falling back down around her face as she scratched the back of her head momentarily while she thought on the answers.
Luckily, while she was trying to formulate what to say to him, Curse pour drinks for them both and slid one over to her. Gratefully she picked up the glass and drank the dose down quickly in one gulp. Pushing the glass forward she waggled it back and forth indicating she would like another one. She had a feeling she was going to need several of them before the night was over. The first one already warm in her belly and helping to spread a bit of a calming effect on her as she started to speak again.
"I don't know about convoluted, but it does involve beings of a higher order... Angels to be exact... Castiel to be more specific. And if I couldn't tell you, I wouldn't be here. But... the whys are a bit more difficult than the hows."
Jo eyed the man across the bar from her. Taking in the face and form that she remembered oh so well. She paused and let him refill her glass again. Repeating the process of drinking it down once more. Then she let out a long breath and figured she better start talking.
"So, like I said. I remember being in the hardware store with my mom. Then the next thing I know I was hanging out in heaven, trying to sort out what to do with my afterlife when Castiel came along."
Frowning a bit as she thought some more on it. She saw her glass had been filled again, she took it in her hand and brought the drink to her lips, taking a smaller sip this time. She nodded a bit as she continued.
"I know you have to be reeling. Trust me. I am too. From this side of it... It seems that it was just a matter of days ago that everything happened. But, I know it's been three years. Talk about a mind fuck. Hence the reason I was holed up in a hotel for the last week or so. I've been trying to wrap my head around it all myself."
Another sip from her glass. Another deep breath she let out slowly as she pushed stray hair out of her face.
"I mostly know what happened while I was gone. At least, the big picture stuff. Like the apocalypse was stopped so I guess my death wasn't in vain. Things of that nature. But, as to why I'm back. The only thing the angel told me was that another storm was coming and that I could help. How I can help, what I can do in it all I have no idea. Even what it is, I really don't know. But, here I am. What I'm supposed to do from here on out, I haven't a clue. I haven't seen Cas since he got me squared away and set up in the hotel. Then he poofed out and left me there."
Yeah, those angels didn't really have the awesome bedside manner that you would expect. It was more, drop you into the deep end of the pool and let you swim your way out. They didn't even give you a pair of swim floaties. Wasn't that just peachy. For Jo, right about now... her arms were getting mighty tired of paddling and it didn't seem like she was any closer to the edge of the pool yet.
