It had been several days since Jo had been brought back to earth. She had spent the time holed up in a hotel room trying to get a grip on all that had happened. Lucky for her she hadn't been made to claw her way out of the ground like when Dean was brought back. Though it still did a number on your head to realize you had been dead and in heaven but now you were back.
Yeah, Joanna Beth Harvelle was back from the beyond. Having died with her mother in a fiery explosion in a hardware store in Carthage, Missouri. That had been over two years ago. During that time she had been wandering in heaven, which wasn't exactly what she thought it be. Not that she thought she'd actually end up in heaven, but there she was. She had been disappointed that she hadn't seen her mother and father there. However, she did find Ash and he tried to explain the whole multiple heaven thing to her and it sort of just made her head hurt. He seemed to be enjoying his afterlife. In his heavenly version of The Roadhouse.
For Jo, it seemed weird. Time was different there and it had only seemed like she was there a few days before Castiel approached her. Said he could send her back down, that the war needed experienced hunters and that she could make a difference. Jo was a bit wary about the idea. Thinking there was a catch. When Cas told her he would have to erase or change some of her memories though she turned him down. If she was going back she wanted to remember, remember everything. And there was someone she wanted to find, sooner rather than later so she wanted Cas to help with that. Those were her conditions and he agreed so here she was. Sitting in a hotel room in Beacon Hills, California. Trying to drum up the courage to walk into a certain bar, looking for a particular man.
Everything had been taken care of by Cas. Her identity restored, a bank account with enough to get her started, a vehicle registered in her name, a few necessities and even her father's iron knife. Apparently Cas knew it was something important to her and was able to recover it and she was grateful.
The strangest thing was, she felt the same as before. She remembered everything. Knew that her mother was still dead and was sad about that, but... She was still herself. Funny as that might sound. After her experience she thought she might feel different, but she didn't.
Glancing over at the clock she let out a breath and headed out the door and down to the parking lot. Getting into her pickup she drove over to the bar that Cas had told her about. She got out of the truck and strode across the parking lot with a purpose.
Dressed in a typical outfit of jeans, a t-shirt, a leather jacket and well worn boots she pushed open the door and went inside. It was fairly dark like most bars were. She paused to let her eyes adjust for a moment before she headed over to the bar. Waving down the bartender she questioned him.
"Can you tell me where I might find Curse Jordan. I heard he own..."
The words died on her lips as she heard the familiar voice. It was loud and obviously already had more than a few drinks in him. Her head whipped around in the direction of the sound and there he was. Bigger than life. Holding her hand up to the bartender she indicated she got her answer. Taking careful footsteps she walked over, running her hands through her hair as she tried to think of what to say. When she finally got to his line of sight and where he could hear her, only one word made it out of her mouth before her voice cut out on her.
"Hey."
Not exactly a way to start a conversation after almost three years being gone. Sure he had heard of her death, this would be a shock. But, it was the best she could do at the moment as she watched for his reaction.
