There wasn't much to be said and done about Beacon Hills, if it weren't for the things that went on there, Kasey Radley might have thought it a boring town. That or it was just a telling sign that he was growing old, coming from the Ozarks though and that Missouri backwoods, his view of entertainment just didn't come close to everyone else's, which may have been the reason why he found himself at the bar. It wasn't just any bar though, through contacts and whisper's, this was a hunter's bar and nothing felt more secure than being among your own. That didn't change the fact though that he still very much felt like an outsider here, despite having friends in the area, they weren't here and he wasn't about to drag that two that took care of his daughter out for drinking, that just seemed wrong.
Blue grey eyes glanced around the bar for a moment, there were people playing pool and chatting with each other, going over notes or discussing hunts. They all seemed different, he would be willing to bet that each one had a different method or 'code' that they lived by, some were born into it and others, well, they just learned about it the hard way like he had sixteen years ago. Kasey knew that they all might be different in one way or another, but they still shared that same history of something going wrong, that same knowledge that there was more darkness in the world other than murder and war, that some murder came from the things that go bump in the night. And while they all carried that secret with them, every day, some else was getting exposed to it.
The thought made him think of his sister for a moment, her frantic phone calls and then arriving to see her, just human one last time before she turned. Kasey shook his head, trying to get rid of the thoughts all of the sudden. They were not memories of his that he liked to visit, in fact, he liked to keep them buried in a chest. Yet that didn't stop them from leaking out from time to time, "Man, I need a drink," he muttered to himself, running a hand through his short hair before waving at one of the bar tenders, quickly getting himself something on draft. With the amber colored liquid in front of him, Kasey was quick to take a chug of it, a welcomed flavor hitting his taste buds. Placing the glass back down, he welcomed the warm rush flowing through his system now and to think, that was only his first drink.
Still, being new in town meant not getting drunk. There was no need to be an ass, that was one way to make enemies and right now, Kasey felt happy enough with only having those of the supernatural kind to deal with. Humans and hunters, that only added more to the plate and he wasn't sure if he wanted to deal with that. Getting up from the stool, he grabbed his drink and left the bar. Maneuvering around people, Kasey headed straight for the darts now that had been left unoccupied for the time being. Grabbing them, he took his place a few yards back before letting one of the darts fly. It struck the board hard, missing the center by a few inches. Well now, that was just embarrassing. A slight sigh escaped him now before he lifted his glass back up to his lips to take another sip. Unless someone came along who peaked his interests, Kasey felt like he was going to be looking at a boring night.WORDS: 619
