Lyrics from: House on a Hill - The Pretty Reckless
Cassandra was, at the moment, in the faulty room running off copies of the new assignments for her students. The British History teacher had to take a permanent leave of absence and Cass was hired literally last minute. She only had a weekend to devise a syllabus for the class, but thankfully that had been enough time to do so. She was picking up where the other teacher had left off, and hoped that she made adequate information for the current topic; Queen Elizabeth the First's reign. After every paper was finished, Cassandra gathered the many papers and headed to her first period class.
Once she got to the class, she took a deep breath before heading inside. She found a full class of noisy students. Before she spoke, Cass decided to used her London accent that she hadn't used in many, many years. She cleared her throat a little before speaking.
"Excuse me. Class," She said clapping her hands. "Yes, hello. I'm your new teacher, Miss Cassandra Robin. Now, I understand you've been studying Queen Elizabeth and her reign in England, correct? I have some worksheets for you all to do; it's alright if you don't know some of it. It's merely to see where exactly you are at in the chapter so I know what to cover and what not to. First, however, I'll take roll."
Cass proceeded to take roll call and, after that, distribute the papers she made, and became increasingly aware of a male student staring at her. She came close to him when she heard the boy whisper to a friend of his. "I'd like to be 'Robin' something all over her right now..." he laughed, as did his friends. Cass had to prevent herself from rolling her eyes as she passed him. She ignored his continued whispers as best she could and, when she finished passing out said papers, Cass headed up to the front of the room and spoke again. "When you finish, please turn your papers into me. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me."
"Uh, yeah, Cassie. I got a question for you." The male student from earlier said.
It took all of Cass' strength to address him with an even tone. "Yes, Mr. Crossley?"
"You a virgin, or one of them girls who only look it?"
Most of the classroom erupted in laughter and Cass just rolled her eyes. 'I love hormonal teenage boys...' She thought, internally sighing.
