The holidays were upon them and that was something Derek hasn’t really done. Laura used to make him try to participate in the holidays, but he didn’t see the point not when his family is dead and gone. Would his beta’s even care that it was the holidays? He didn’t know. He really didn’t care to celebrate it would only be a reminder of what he lost and he didn’t think he could open that complex issue yet.
He wasn’t sure if any of them ever celebrated so he might be able to get away with not doing so. Thaila she lived in fairy tales and was unsure of how her family did things. Isaac he really didn’t seem as if he did the holidays either, Lilith seemed to be on the run with her father usually, Boyd & Erica if anything they’d have their family to do stuff with. Peter he wasn’t sure what that man did, but didn’t think he’d care if holidays were missed. Pierson he didn’t think celebrated that since the family wasn’t exactly into civilized things.
Cora he didn’t know how she felt about the holidays. Since he doesn’t really know her that well these days, but when they were kids she loved it. Family gatherings were always the best. Stiles well he wasn’t sure if he considered that annoyingly sarcastic teenager pack or not, but was sure he’d be spending it with his father or possibly the McCall’s. Which he was sure where Scott would be spending it with his mother if she isn’t working.
Jackson now he was probably going to spend it with his parents on some exotic getaway or something… Lydia with him. He still don’t trust her as far as he can throw her. Allison she may be dating Scott and that is something Derek was all grumbles about, doesn’t trust her, and doesn’t think that Scott should either, but since when do any of them actually listen to him? He defiantly did not consider her pack at all.
So there Derek sat on the couch, his hands rubbing over his face, taking in the living room. It was a nice place for the pack. It really was. Holidays were always a big Hale tradition. It was just still things were up in the air with alpha’s and who knows what else roaming threw Beacon Hills do they really have time to celebrate? He didn’t know… his luck something would roll threw and ruin the holidays so should they even try and bother with them?
He could hear music all over the places and sucked in some air and out. They all liked to drive him crazy. “Shut that crap off and do your home work.” He yelled at them all. He was sure they could all hear him. He liked to make sure they all got it done. He had to TRY to be the responsible adult especially seeing as most of them are still under age and they don’t think of ‘the dramatic consequences’ if he is deemed un fit to stay with. They are young, stupid, and reckless and he knew what recklessness got you. Your whole family burnt alive or worse. If they are too reckless something like that could happen to everyone in the house or well the state could just come and put them in foster care especially the younger ones if they are not old enough to be emancipated.
Someone was rustling about in the kitchen. He didn’t really use his ears or sense of smell to figure out who it was. He was too busy thinking ‘please don’t tell me we need more food.’ Werewolves ate as if food was going out of style. “You best not be eating my cookies,’ He yelled at whoever was in there not wanting to get up off the couch for one. Usually he was always active, but for right now, he wanted to take a load off and think, but surely would be interrupted. He could feel it in his bones. So what were they to do?
