It was strange how much one simple thing could bring a once broken family back together again. The amazement Chey felt at her brothers coming together in their love for her filled her heart so spectacularly that she almost forgotten it had been broken and trampled on by the man she'd believed she loved. Maybe she did love him, maybe she didn't, all she knew was that the pain was most definitely real. That said, being bundled on the couch between her two favourite men with popcorn, ice cream, rootbeer floats and chick flicks? That was the most amazing feeling in the world. You could tell your big brothers loved every part of you when they were completely willing to watch through the entire collection of Nick Sparks movies and hold you as you sobbed silently. Of course her tears had since run out. Her body was exhausted and no matter how much she wanted to she was out, she couldn't cry anymore. Maybe it was a good thing, she was sure the lack of tears would make her siblings feel a bit better about her state, but that wasn't to say there was any part of them that relinquished the desire to kill the person that had caused them in the littlest Crowe in the first place.
She clung to them not like her life depended on it, but Hayden's. His spell was starting to wear off and she wasn't quite sure why. Every conversation she'd had ran through her head like a video montage. The bitter taste in her mouth was him, disgust at the fact she'd let him near her in the first place and distraught at the idea that she believed she could love such a monster. So why couldn't she bare the idea of something happening to him?? Was it the aftermath of the spell? The small part that hadn't quite worn off yet? Or was it the hope she held somewhere deep inside her that some part of it had to be real? She needed something about it to be real. She wasn't the girl she was yesterday, not anymore, and she couldn't cop with losing the innocence she held sacred for nothing. Then there was the other issue, the one that killed her more than any other...
What if her brothers couldn't take him? She lusted for the days where she believed that her role models could take any monster, that they could fight everything, but she'd seen Hayden. She'd seen how easy it was for him to make her weak at the knees. Not to mention Gerrard, he had so many years on the rest of them and he was six feet under thanks to Hayden. If anything happened to Ryder or JD it'd be her fault and she couldn't live with that... Instead she just laid lifeless with her head on one brother and her legs on the other, ignoring the world. That was until her phone started to buzz on the table.
